I am also having this same problem. It first started when i played music or videos from youtube, itunes etc. Now it does it with ANY sound...rather it be systems sounds (clicks, aim, etc) or any music or anything. I am really getting frustrated. Is there some sort of fix for this? I googled the problem and there are several people with the same issue. I actually have an Acer Aspire One Mini Laptop.

There are a number of possible reasons can cause your Lenovo computer running slow than it used to, it is hard to identify just what might be dragging down its performance, let alone implement the necessary technical adjustments to fix it.

So if you want to address the issues more easily, I'll recommend you try a Lenovo speed up software, available here: http://www.speeduplenovo.com/

My presario v 2000 is very very slow doing anything. In fact while in the garage using battery power it was running like lightning, but when plugged into A/C outlet it is very sluggish. I don't mean...

check the power scheme settings, (control panel power options\power schemes)

you may have a power scheme set for power conservation and cpu speed while running on ac. it should be reversed and run with less battery uisage on battery.

My screen doesnt work.

I suggest you to perform these steps.
Test the AC adapter Follow the steps below to determine whether the problem is related to the AC adapter or your notebook system board.
  1. Remove the battery and disconnect all external devices from the computer.
  2. Hold the Power button for several seconds, with all power sources removed. This drains residual power from the system, and may correct many problems.
  3. Connect the AC adapter to a wall outlet and plug the other end into the computer.
  4. Press the Power button to start the notebook PC.
If the notebook does not start or the display is blank then check the power indicator light or power socket LED. I suggest you to connect the notebook to external monitor and check whether its working or not. Then please perform the harddrive self test also.

1 Light away from dead?

Remove the battery and plug in the transformer. Then try to power up. Sometimes a faulty battery prevents a laptop from booting. (Such was the case for me).

Notebook make bad sound

Hi, Based on the model of your laptop, I would suggest that you increase the memory to max about 2 X 256 (512Mb) (576 MB - 100MHz SDRAM). Your laptop came in several versions from PIII 650 to 1.0G. Running XP might barely be ok with 1G but definitely will be slow in 650. You might want to downgrade your OS to say Win2K or perhaps even a 98SE. The "bad" sound may be a result of low memory. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

Slowness and Audio Vibrations

firstly, your startup is slow more than likely because you have too many unecassary programmes running on start up, so download the excellent free ccleaner programme from the link below and analyse the system and run a clean up and also click the tools tab and startup tab, here you will see all the programmes running on satrtup, you can delete them in this programme from the startup, althogh this doesnt delete the entire programme, only the start up. http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ the noise from the audio files needs to be explained a little better, unless you mean the vibration from the dvd drive, if so this is common on some drives when they have difficulty reading files, or if you mean files that are on your pc are causing vibrations, the only thing i can think is that maybe your onboard mic volume or boost is set too high and is picking up the sound and reverbing.
