Fusing Unit Replacement - IM3511

There was a paper jam in our office printer/copier and someone moved the fusing unit out to remove the paper. Now the fusing unit won't go back in. There is a small gray lever on the front side of the copier but the fusing unit won't push back inside far enough to relatch it in place.

Paper keeps jamming in my fs2100 kyocera

One possibility regarding paper jamming is the weight of the paper you're using. For example some printers have difficulty feeding 20 lb. paper. I suggest that you first try loading your printer with a lighter weight paper, starting with 12 lb. paper. If that works, then move up to 16 lb. paper. If that fails, then consider cleaning the rubber rollers that control the paper feed.

Sir ,ir 2020 paper jam at fusing unit.some times half of paper will come out, sometimes jams at the entrance of fusing unit.i changed every sensors, then changed new fusing unit, then feeding assembly...

Sometimes you can vlear a fuser jam with a manilla folder. Open the copier let it coll a bit and slide a manilla folder through the fusing unit. If it is just pieces of stuck paper the folder can sometimes push them out of yhe wsy ad you gorce it through and pull it out the other side. The fuser has two rolls one heat and one pressure both of these rolls have small fingers which are supposed to kerp paper from sticking to them. Sometimes these fingers get bent or damaged and this causes the actual jam. There is also an exit sensor that detects jams in this area it can have a damaged part as well

AL1655CS Paper jammed in Fusing Unit. How to get it out?

If you can not remove it by flipping open the gate with all the teeth on it then you may have to remove the fusing unit. This is easily done by removing the 2 silver screws, one at each end of the fusing unit. Then the unit will just wiggle right out. This will give you better access to the top and bottom areas where the paper enters and exits. Then just re-install.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

The copy will print, but parts of the copy are smeared and can be wiped off with fingers leaving nothing on the copy in those areas.

Bad fusing unit. The fusing unit is the assembly that get hot and "fuses" the toner onto the paper just before the paper exits the machine. If you or someone you know is mechanically inclined you could replace the unit yourself. $150 to $180 for the fusing unit. has them. Part# R3200
Replacement consists of removing the back cover so you can unplus the wiring. The opening the right side door and removing 2 mounting screws.
Good Luck and Thank You for uning Fixya.

H5-01 indicates tha the paper sensor is defective in the fusing unit. The only way you can try to reset that one is buy turning the power off, wait 30 seconds and turn the power back on.

If the error code returns the fusing unit will have to be fixed to take care of the paper sensor.

Jammed papler

inspect your fusing unit carefully, do not use any sharp things, you can damage the fusing roller. see that the sensor is moving fine, that the separator are OK, not broken.
if thats not helping and you wont find anything, last thing is remove back and side covers, carefully remove TBU, unhook the connectors and remove two screws in fuser sides and remove fusing unit to inspect it a little closer.and find the problem.
