Question about Fossil FS3105 Wrist Watch

1 Answer

The watch stops instead of the chrono

I bought this watch and realised that when the start and stop buttons on the side are pressed instead of the chronograph (the small timing dials) being reset, the seconds hand in the watch is reset and the watch comes to a complete stop. The watch comes to life once the start button is pressed again. I think somewhere they got the logic wrong. It is a real waste if the watch stops and the stop clocks keep running. The watch looks so cool and beautifully designed, but what to do if it doesn't work properly. I think some dense head reversed the logic and applied the chrono's logic to the main watch.

On this type of watch the second should not be working unless you are in the chrono mode. The lower dial should be the only indication of the seconds when not in chrono mode. You probably need to have the chrono reset and shown how the functions work. Try a Fossil location they will be able to tell you how to work this watch. It does not sound like this is a major problem.

My new eco drive watch has been charging for two days. It it keeping time but the big second hand does not move. Any advice or send it back?

Is your watch a chronograph? Many chronograph watches use the larger seconds hand only for chrono' functions such as stopwatch or countdown timer, and often have a small sub-dial for seconds.
If there are buttons on the side of your watch, you will probably find that pressing those will cause the large seconds hand to come into operation.
If it isn't a chronograph watch then send it back -it's faulty.

How it works invicta clock mechanism ?

Your watch is battery powered or a 'quartz' watch. It is commonly refered to as a 'chronograph'. That is another word for stop watch. As well as telling time and the date, your watch can time how long an event lasts. For example, a horse race. You start the chronograph or stop watch when the horse starts and stop it when it crosses the finish line. When the next horse starts you need set it back to zero to time the next race.Operation is simple. The upper push button starts and stops the chronograph. Try it. Now with the chronograph stopped, push the bottom button. The hand return to the 12 o'clock position or the 'zero' position. Also notice the small dials on the dial or face of the watch. They record minutes and other increments of time. The large hand going around when you push the upper button is recording seconds. Hope this helps, Michael

Could not find a download for instructions on this watch, but I did manage to find some basic instructions for the Sector brand. I hope this helps as this is the best I can come up with.
Good luck.
Sector Chronograph Watch Instructions
  • Most chronograph watches have screw-down crowns for water resistance. You must unscrew the watch crown before you can make any changes to the watch time. After time is set screw the crown back in. To utilize the chronograph dials, use the buttons on the side of the watch. One button will be for the second timer. Press once for the second hand to start timing. Press again to stop it. Another button will be to reset the second hand timer back to zero. Sector Chronograph watches may have different dial functions (see link in References).
  • Sector Dual-Time Watch Instructions
  • Because Sector watches are known for their sports capabilities, the Dual-Time watches have screw-down crowns. For Dual-Time timepieces, unscrew the crown counterclockwise. Pull the crown to middle position to set the date. Pull the crown out to its fully extended position and rotate it to set the day of the week, hour and time. Press and hold in the crown and turn clockwise to seal the crown back in to the watch.
  • Sector Ana-Digi Watch Instructions
  • Sector Ana-Digi timepieces have analog hands plus digital timekeeping functionality. To set the time, unscrew the crown counterclockwise and then clockwise to the appropriate time. The digital functionalities are programmed by the buttons on the side of the case. Depending on the style of the Sector watch, you can set the digital time with one button, set the date display, 1/100 seconds chronograph timer, altimeter, thermometer and alarm functions.

Pressing reset doesn't go to zero. sweep second hand goes to 57 seconds

Pull out the crown and use either a combination or one of the cronograph buttons, this will allow you to adjust the hand positions

Tissot PRS 200 My watch is not keeping time. It is not a batery problem. I have been told that it is because the chronograph is always working. How do I shut it down ?

Your true actual time second hand is on one of your subdials. That big "second" hand is really your chronograph seconds timer. It should start and stop when you depress one of the plungers/ buttons on the side of your watch.
Again, that big hand does not need to be turning all the time (or ever if you never use your advanced stopwatch/ chronograph). The true seconds hand is very small on one of the smaller dials.
Good luck, I hope that's all it is

How can i recall multiple laps during a run?

The Timex Ironman 30 Lap also has a stopwatch that can be used to keep track of split times for racing sports like running or cycling. Press the "Mode" button until the display shows "Chrono," then press and hold the "Set/Recall" button. To start the timer, press the "Start/Split" button. It will continue to run even if you exit to another mode. Pressing the "Stop/Reset" button will stop the chronograph. To record a split time, press the "Start/Split" button again while the timer is running. To see your split times, press the "Set/Recall" button while the watch is in Chrono mode. You can then scroll through the various splits with the plus and minus keys. Press "Set/Recall" again to exit display mode and return to the timer.
