ive got the same problem but it doesnt work with all tht fn and f6 or f9 :(

  • BlueGrrrl Apr 14, 2009

none of the fn + f combos are working for me either, but i do know that it stopped working after i was messed around with the f keys... but no matter which combos i try it still doesnt turn it on..... on my HP Vista it appears that f6 would be the correct one because it has a pic of a padlock on it... f9 is play/pause for media players...

I have just bought the same Laptop, when windows Vista is started the webcam doesn't work. By pressing the keys FN + F9 the webcam will be activated (you have to do this every time you start your laptop)

Finally!!!! Thank you so much for this suggestion. My laptop is a Medion Akoya P6611. I have been going crazy trying to figure how to turn this on. After your suggestion I saw a pop up on my tool bar telling me a Webcam driver was being installed. It then said it was successful but I still had no picture when I turned on Skype. Then I changed the camera to "Foxlink" & then I saw my ugly mug on the monitor...............I am so excited. Thanks again.

Need driver for webcam (Medion akoya P6612 Laptop / Ubuntu OS)

Try Manycam and see if it works with Unbuntu. Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "download cnet" (without the quotes) and go to their site. Look down on the left and you will see a gray box that says find software. Type in: "Manycam" (without the quotes) and go download and install it. It's absolutely free, no trial period and it comes with application and I think driver. Give it a try. Be sure not to accept any buggy stuff that it will ask you during the install.

I just bought an HP notebook and I don't know how to hot to 'register' or 'turn on' my webcam.

Your computer may include an integrated webcam, located at the top of the display. The webcam is an input device that allows you to capture and share video. Preinstalled CyberLink YouCam software provides new features that expand the webcam experience.

To use the webcam and CyberLink YouCam software, select Start > All Programs > CyberLink YouCam > CyberLink YouCam.
note.png NOTE: The first time you access the YouCam software, you may experience a brief delay as the software loads.

Using YouCam as your default webcam software enables you to experiment with the following features:
? Video-Record and play back webcam video. You can also e-mail or upload video to YouTube, using the icon on the software interface. ? Streaming video-When you open your instant message program, YouCam displays a floating toolbar that lets you add graphic effects. ? Special effects-Add frames, filters, and emoticons to your snapshots and video. ? Snapshots-Take single frame or "burst" webcam shots in rapid succession. ? Connect-E-mail photos and video using the icon on the software interface. note.png NOTE: For details about using webcam software, refer to the software manufacturer's instructions, which may be provided with the software, on disc, or on the manufacturer's Web site.

just go to the device manager and refresh the USB root hubs as the webcam in hp computers is connected with the usb ports. if it works fine then gud or else it can be a h/w fault.

TV Tuner express card 54 DVB-T Medion

Hi,
you need to install/re-install the drivers for the expresscard, should be downloadable from medion. Also check in control-panel that the device is there. If you look in My Computer/control Panel/System/Device Manager and the device is listed, with a yellow exclamation mark. try removing/uninstalling. or physically remove from the computer, re-install and go through the new hardware wizard to set it up.

Webcam setup on medion laptop

THE SOLUTION!!!!!!

1. Press start button.
2. In the "serch programs and files" tab typen in youcam. This will open up the webcam.
3. Once it is opened it will create a temporary icon on the task bar at the bottom of you desktop.
4. Click on this icon and you will have an option to pin it to the program to the taskbar, select this option and you will be able to easily start the launch of the program at any time.

Note: I really do not understand when Medion have not put direction for the webcam in the instruction manual!!!!!

Hope this helps,

Youcam 1.0

Here you go; http://download.cyberlink.com/ftpdload/trial/CyberLink.1023_generic_YUC071008-01.exe Bear in mind, the download is 46MB I'm rather curious however, as the only Youcam I could find (Cyberlink), is a program, rather than an actual webcam. Are you sure the webcams model is a Youcam? or did you infact mean the program? If you did mean the webcam, you can find the drivers for your laptops webcam on the HP website; http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/pfinder?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=uk&query=presario%20700&dest_page=softwareCategory&tool=softwareCategory
