    sorry, what is liberty?

I have the same problem. Mine is completely black and useless, it mounts in iTunes and everything appears fine. Taking it back today, it is the second time this has happened. The other time it came good after a day.

my i phone screen went black

    what to do?

  • Anonymous Mar 07, 2009

my screen goes black and nothing i do will make it come back on. I had set a timer before it went black, and when the time went off, it just kept going off for like 5 minutes, then quit. When I plug it in to my computer, the computer recognizes it, but I still can't "wake" it out of the black screen.

Yes, I had the same problem. Here is what to do:
Just press the home button with the close/open button for about 10 seconds. Then, there should be a blank screen with the apple logo on the center. Let the iPhone/iPod touch rest for about a minute and it should be ok.

Try resetting the phone by pressing and holding the top and home button until the screen goes black. Once the screen has gone black, try starting it normally by pressing the top and Home buttons for 1 second.

Hello Dass,

Press and hold down the Sleep/Wake button and Home button simultaneously for at least 10 seconds; the screen will clear out and then the Apple logo will appear on the black background. When the logo appears it means that reset is done.

Iphone black screen & buttons "pressed" while on call

I tried a solution to a similar problem and it worked for this problem, which I was having too. All I did was remove the leather case that I used to protect the iPhone. Calling and the screen worked like normal after I took the phone out of the leather case. Try that.

Iphone start problem

Hello,

Hold down the power button and home button simultaneously for 15 - 20 seconds then release. Soon after you may have to press the power button again to restart the device. The iPhone should reset itself without any loss of data. If it boots in recovery mode ( you will be a cable on the screen ) you will need to connect to itunes to restore the device.

This is most ofter the #1 solution to fix this issue. Hope it works for you.

Thank you for using Fixya
