Got a new part. don't know how to install it

I recieved a part labeled RC1-2031-3 for my fax machiene. It will hopefully fix a problem I have. When I put more than one pieces of paper in the machiene it will grab two or more at a time so I got a new feeder part to help fix this problem but there were no directions on how to install the part included. Can anyone help??

I assume you either have recieved the separation pad or the paperpick roller. Here are instructions on how to replace both.

  1. Use the power switch to turn the product off and then unplug the power cord. Figure 1: Unplugging the power cord Got a new part. don't know how to install it - c00062340.gif
  2. Open the print-cartridge door, and remove the print cartridge. CAUTION: To prevent damage, do not expose the print cartridge to light. Cover the print cartridge or place it in a black plastic bag, if necessary. Also, do not touch the black-sponge transfer roller inside the product. Touching the transfer roller can damage the product.

Cox comunications installed new modem and now the fax will not recieve or send

Make sure phone line is plugged into the right port. If you have two phone line ports on your fax machine, one is going to be labeled "line" and the other "ext" or "phone". You want the phone line connected to the line jack. This is assuming that you are not on Voice Over IP phone with the change from Cox. If you are, you may need to contact them to see how to connect your fax with your new configuration.

Still can't get fax not to pick up when answering machine is connected.

if you have the fax-575 there should be a TAD setting.

This is the setting you would use if you're using an answering machine on the same phone line as your fax machine.

To set the Recieve Mode :

Press Recieve Mode. The LCD display shows your current selection.

Continue to press Recieve Mode until your new selection appears. After 2 seconds the screen returns to the date and time display, along with your new Recieve Mode setting.

The 4 Recieve modes are Fax Only, Fax/Tel, TAD:Answering Machine, Manual.

Hope this helps!!!

Brother Intellifax 1270e

Make sure ribbon is installed correctly. Also check inside the tray area to see if the rubber roller and or the rubber separator pad is dislodged. Obviously not worth repairing unless under warranty.
