I turned off my monitor a couple of weeks ago, now it won't turn on. Just a black screen. The power button is blue, indicating that its on.

What can it be, a fuse?

I am having similar problems with my FPD1975W Gateway Monitors... I switched out my monitor so I narrowed it down to the monitors, and know it's these monitors. I use a double screen and purchased two of these at the same time... They both started to act up at the same time... Now only one will show powered up (blue light) and that keeps turning on and off... I think these are just cheap monitors but still...I expected them to last longer than 2 years, as I am currently using and OLD "Daytek" 15' relick... A bit pissed about that...

I purchased 2 of these moitors at the same time as I use a double screen for music production and both started having problems booting up... Now only one tries to boot up but keeps stutting itself down... screen ficks once and turns off... Black screen otherwise.. Other screen just shows a pale Blue light that flickers on then offf. This has almost completely stopped and now barely even tries to turn on. I tried an old 15" Daytec monitor I have as a spare and it works great. So I know it's not the video card... The monitors were fairly cheap when I brought them but to be honest I expected more time out of them. Any suggestions? Thanks Cj

Are you sure someone hasn't changed the power setting in windows. I've seen similar tricks pulled by so called mates. :-) If windows is OK then check the manual for the monitor and if you still can't crack it take it for a ride to the repair shop. It is under warranty after all. BMW

My monitor was turned off because of a storm. Now it will not turn on. The power button does not show any lights.

AC outlet is good? Otherwise the main AC fuse in the power supply board may have blown, caps are bad, you need to take it apart.

How do you open the case?

Here are the service manuals, one of them should match your chassis:
http://elektrotanya.com/?q=showresult&megnev=lg&megnev2=l1720&kategoria=monitor&kat2=all

I use thin flat blade to crack open starting at the bottom edge and work your way around, it uses plastic finger hooks so you may break some of them, they go in easy but hard to come out.

There was a power outlage and when the power came back on the monitor would not turn on

Hello, If there is a power outage and the monitor fails to come up, i would want you to take the monitor to a good power supply source and plug it there to see if it will come up, the problem might be with the power source, if not then the problem is with the monitor.if it is dim, i mean the screen then you can be sure is the inverter switch on the monitor, but if i have a monitor problem, the best thing, i would likely do is to get a new one. On button is orange and moniter wont come on

If the PC is on and running and the light is oragne it means your video card is bad or the cable is loose.

Power off your PC (gonna have to hold the button down on PC until it turns off) and then turn off the monitor.

Reseat cables on both ends from Monitor and PC then power back on again and see if that helps.

If it still doesn't work you have a bad video card.

Hope this helps

Hooked up a used 17" LG Flatron L1720P flat Panel. When I turn it on it says Power Saving Analog Mode and goes black, no instructions with it.

Make sure your power cables are connected properly. Sounds like it's not getting any video data from the graphics card.

If it is not your graphics card, It could be a dead monitor.

LG Flatron L1720P Loses Display

The backlight inverter board is defective or a high voltage cable going from the inverter output to the lamps is damaged or touching ground.
