Rca dlp tv popped crackled and no picture today.

I turned on my big screen tv today and heard a loud pop from the back and then turn on and off to see if it would come on. I then heard like a crackling noise and I was afraid it was catching on fire? Is this a bulb that may need replaced or what else does it sound like?

Heard a pop when I turned on tv and now nothing

don't leave it on and have it looked at---most likely is if it uses a lamp that may be the problem but if not it may be in the power supply.

RCA HD50LPW164 turned on TV made a pop

the loud pop you heard was probably a capacitor blowing its top. The grinding noise is likely high voltage arching that was occuring due to rising voltage since capacitor isn't there to smooth it out.

Front panel blocked or locked

RCA Entertainment Series 32" Plus Gold, GEMSTAR, xbox ready has been in the shop twice so far. Transformer replaced and 6 months later the picture suddenly had horizontal white lines that gradually spaced apart more from top to bottom and it had a gray hue and fuzzy, but I still watched it for 3 months that way. Today I turned it on and about a minute later I heard a loud crackling sound coming from the back and the picture disappeared, screen went black. Is it worth fixing again? Tv went out after loud pop and has clicking noise does not turn on

If you have a Sony DLP, then the loud pop you heard is your lamp.  The lamps last approx. 4K-6K viewing hours.  Read your manual for replacement part number to reorder and very simple to replace yourself.

#1 When I turn on the TV the power button comes on then blinks 6 times then goes off for a few seconds then repeats the cycle. I have sound over my surround system during this time but no picture.
#2 My sound would crackle and pop every once and a while until now it does nothing. I have to watch it with the surround sound on.

32 RCA makes popping sounds

It needs a new FLY BACK transformer. That is what you are looking at. The origionals are not made for the set any longer but insist on having a generic on installed by a local TV shop. I just put one into a RCA 31" and it works nice. Don't throw away the TV. Get it fixed. MAKE SURE YOU INSIST THEY USE THE GENERIC ONE! THEY DO WORK!

Tv wont turn on

The loud pop was a capacitor blowing up or the high voltage transformer blew up. Very common problem.. if its the Transformer be expected to pay 250 or more to have repaired.
