Make sure the ribbon and corr. tape are on the other side of the metal fingers in front of the cardholder, and nothing is interfering with the free rotation of the printwheel. you can check this by turning the mach. off and carefully turning the printwheel by hand. also look for any bent petals on the printwheel. if none of this works, you will need a repair shop or a new machine.

My Brother ML100 is not printing what I type

Hammer sticking and typing incorrect letters (and or skipping letters): 1) make sure daisy wheel installed correctly. 2) hold down CODE key & Q (RESET) to reset wheel...if still not corrected 3) WD40 the hammer at the base & joints where moving parts are, keep typing until oil seeps in (this last one fixed it for me)

Typing light and inconsistant-top part of letter okay but bottom too light or not there: to left of hammer (at base) are 2 screws, I losened them and adjusted hammer to different forward and backward spots..finally found the ideal location where full letter printed and had the correct force it needed to print correctly.

Turn it off and on it should go thru it's dance and rehome the print wheel. f you are notin KBII , language mode or the print wheel damaged the homing pawl for the P/W is probably broken you need a tech.

When typing wrong letters and numbers type

You might have a "proportional space" printwheel but the pitch selector is on 10, 12, or 15 instead of PS. OR it is on PS but you have a normal print wheel. Try selecting different pitches. Another thing that causes that problem is sometimes the ribbon or correction tape gets caught in the printwheel.

Wong letters & numbers

I downloaded the manual from http://www.devicemanuals.com/downloadguide.php and then, following the instructions there, I removed then re-inserted the daisy wheel. This solved my problem. Perhaps it had somehow gotten out of adjustment. At least, it is something to try if you haven't tried it already.

If the typewriter is typing letters or symbols that you do not type, it is usually because the Pitch Selector is set to "PS". The pitch selector is on the left hand side and has the numbers 10,12, 15 and PS. Place the selector on 10 or 12 and you will be OK.
Also, check to make sure your printwheel is installed properly. Remove it and put it back in to make sure.

Another thing you can try is to clear the memory. To do this, turn off the machine. Place a piece of paper in the machine sideways. Hold down the MAR REL key and while holding it down, turn on the machine. Wait 2 seconds, then let go of the key. The typewriter will start typing. Shut the machine off after about 15 seconds. Then turn it on as usual. This will clear the typewriter's memory and unexpected charaters should not happen anymore.

Types random letters

If you cleaned the printwheel home sensor and found no obstructions, I would first try a different wheel before going any further, sometimes they become damaged.
