Washer door will not open

I have the same problem as the one described below by Artweavaly. As suggested by catriver's response (second paragraph below), I went into test mode and did a self diag. After a short tumble, the humming sound came back and the SC code appeared in the display. The sound goes down in intensity with time and eventually goes away. I got a weak burning smell, pressed the spin speed button and got to PA. The door is still locked. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ivanuyo. The washer was halfway through the wash cycle, and stopped; possibly overloaded. I can change the controls to any load or configuration I wish, but the washer just makes a quiet humming sound and does not progress (the timer doesn't count down). The "locked" indicator will not shut off (or let me into the washer), regardless of what I do: change cycles, shut off the machine, or unplug it. Best Solutionposted on Oct 02, 2006 By catriver Rank: Guru Rating: 88.43%, 235 votes Art, it's possible something is jammed in the pump causing your problem. See if you can put it into a service mode. Power off and on and press chime and xtra rinse together for 3 seconds. Now to do a quick service cycle press temp and soil level together. The washer should take off and do a self diag. It will run the water valves, tumble, dispenser, drain and high spin if you entered it right. If everything passes you will get a PA in the display. If not you will get the error code. You can advance through this test by pressing the spin speed button. If any error codes come up post back and we will try to get to the bottom of it. Iv, did you check the pump to see if it's jammed? The SC indicates there is a failure in the washer. While you are in the service mode, press the rinse and spin button while rotating the cyle select knob one click. A d should show in the display. Rotating the knob again will show the latest error code. When you get the code post back or e-mail me at [email protected] and I will try to get to the bottom of it...Catriver.

I've got all the same issues, ran the test and it came up PA but my washer will not drain. In the cycle where it should be draining it buzzes softly. I'm sure the pump is either bad or Jammed but how can I figure out which? My email is [email protected]
    Thanks

Your answer is in the link provided below. The chart shown is for a 50 ohm circuit but in the paragraph below the chart they address other characteristic impedences and describe the z factor and how to compute.

"Locked Door" flashes after interrupting self clean...

Hi robertkbrown...you may want to try to following steps.....good luck my friend...chris If ?LOC DOOR? is flashing in the display of your range or oven, and the self-clean cycle has not been selected, follow the steps below to reset your control: Motorized Switch 1. With the door open, locate the door jamb switch on the face of the oven. It will look like a small black post or dowel. 2. Push it in until the oven cavity light goes off, indicating that the oven believes the door is closed. 3. While you hold the door jamb switch in this position, complete the following steps. 4. Press the Clean pad, wait 10 seconds. 5. When the cycle initiates, press the clear/off or cancel pad immediately to cancel it. 6. Wait 10 seconds for the display to clear. 7. The door should unlock and there should not be a need for service. Manual Switch 1. Press the Clean pad. 2. Close the door. 3. Slide the latch to lock the door. 4. Hit the cancel button immediately. 5. Unlock the door.

Kenmore HE2 does not drain after first load.

  1. Unplug the washer to completely disconnect electrical power.
  2. Remove the bottom front service panel.
  3. Carefully reach up through the bottom opening and pull the release tab on the bottom of the door lock assembly until it clicks. NOTE: Internal metal edges in the washer can be sharp. Protective gloves are recommended for this procedure.
By pulling the manual release tab on the door lock assembly, you should be able to get the washer door open. After opening the door and removing the clothes, I recommend emptying any remaining water in the tub with a wet/dry vacuum (or bail it out). Since you already have the bottom front service panel off and the washer unplugged, you can arrange shallow pans and towels to catch any remaining water and pull the large item filter out of the drain pump assembly as shown in the second image below. You may find a clog in this area that is preventing your washer from draining properly. Clear any clog or debris from this area and reassemble the washer. Check your drain hose for a kink or clog. Check the washer house drain for a clog or restriction. Test the washer to see if it will drain properly.

Kenmore front load washer shows door not locked but the door is locked and will not unlock. it will not start either.

Try pressing 'end of cycle' for 3 seconds. You hear a click? Then wait for 2 minutes before trying the door, do not force door. No luck? Plug off the mains. Tilt machine backwards to unscrew 3 screws below the front panel, the kick panel. Slide the panel downwards & out.

Put your hand up towards the lock portion (inside the machine that is), you will feel a tear shaped thing, pull this thing a quarter of an inch down, the door will click open. Check to see that all wires are connected well.

Next try some WD40 on the door mechanism on machine, not on door, & try the door open/close a few times. Would be nice to know what happened............free service remember.(!)

F-26 error message

F-26, is a door lock switch error code. Some things to try; Unplug the washer for 1 minute and see if the error clears. If not, try entering the diag mode by pressing any key except pause/ cancel. Press for 4 seconds and release for 4 seconds 4 times. If entered correctly, all lights should light and the first error should appear. Press the same key to advance through all the errors. When the errors finish. It will start an automatic test mode that tests all componets. The first thing it will test is the door lock. If this fails you more than likley have a door switch problem. Let me know how you make out. Catriver

Maytag MAH8700A

Joe, ds is a door lock malfunction. The door lock latch shows closed and the door switch shows open. Try this, unplug the unit for 60 seconds and see if the error comes back. If it does, with the power on press and hold the chime and xtra rinse pads together for 3 seconds. This will put it into the service mode. Once in the service mode press the chime button again to unlock and the temperature pad to lock. See if they operate. If still no luck you are going to have to do some tests on the door lock switch to see whats happening. You do have a 2 year warranty on these parts and being that it is only a year old, tell them to throw in the labor....Catriver...post back.

Front load washer won't start

Telescope, Im assuming your model starts with 417.44092, Kenmore made by Frigidaire. You have the best model with the digital display. Try unplugging the machine for 5 minutes to see if you can reset the board. If that doesn't work put it into a test mode by doing the following: Turn the dial to drain spin, press cancel to turn off the led's. Within 5 seconds press and hold the options and pause/cancel together for 5 seconds. All the led's should light. Now by turning the dial 1 click at a time clockwise you are going to test the following. 1rst click- hot water solenoid 2. bleach solenoid 3. Bleach and wash water solenoid 4. door lock solenoid activates 5. door lock solenoid de-activates. 6. the washer will fill and tumbe. 7. washer will fill and spin 8. drain pump and door lock will activate and washer will go in high spin. 9 clicks from the start, the last error code will be displayed. To clear the error, press and hold the options and cancel buttons for 3 seconds. To exit the test, just unplug the washer for 5 seconds. Sometimes these electronic boards just get a glitch and have to be reset. Make sure that the dispensor door is shut all the way. Try these things first...Catriver..post back.

Weird smell

Probably mildew. They often suggest running a bleach only (no clothes) cycle every month or so with front-loading washers.

Momma, Maytag put out a service bullitin on this problem. TB26-72. This is a common problem on your model. Why don't you google the service bullitin and it will give you the instructions they have for this problem. If you can't find it, post back and I will post them for you...Catriver...post back.
