Check the resolution settings, right click on the desktop if you are using vista then click on personalize and go to display settings and make sure that it is set to your desired settings.

If using XP then right click the desk top and go to properties then check your display settings from there.

I hope this helps

have you checked the refresh rate?

  • Anonymous Nov 17, 2008

that is still very strange, once you have done that run a dxdiag to make sure that you are not having any graphics errors,

go to start>run and type in dxdiag to open directx diagnosis program and run the display checks

if using vista go to Start>accessories>run

Dell d800 no color on clone display tv

Wow I have never seen this.

but check the resolution of the second screen (on Display propierties) probably the color qualiy is not assigned properly.

Something else: check if there's any other driver for the laptop. sometimes with dell they have more than 1 model of video card on each laptop model proably you installed the incorrect driver?

D800 Video Display

If you get a clean picture when connecting esternal screen, then it is just the lcd flat ribbon LCD cable that is out of place, otherwise it is the videocard.
