You must reset your PS3 in order to accept the new TV configuration.
If the video output settings on the PLAYSTATION3 do not match those of the cable or TV in use, there may be no picture. If the screen goes blank, turn off the system.
Then, with only the PLAYSTATION3 and the TV connected, touch the system's power button for more than 5 seconds to turn the system back on. The video output settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolution.
Hope this helps please remember to rate my response, thanks!
Some newer-model televisions may have difficulty properly
displaying some Virtual Console games downloaded from the
Wii Shop Channel. If you are experiencing problems (such as
a blank screen but you can hear the game's audio), please
try the following:
Try changing the way your Wii console is connected to your
television. For instance:
If the Wii console is connected to a VCR or cable box, try connecting
the Wii directly to the TV (how to).
If the Wii console is connected to the TV directly, try connecting
it to a VCR (how to).
If possible, try connecting to another TV.
If any of the above are successful, it is recommended you use
the connection that works. If the Virtual Console game still did not
display properly after trying different connection types, please call
1-800-255-3700 to discuss available options.
That is actually a poor conclusion. There are three different lasers, one for blu-ray, one DVD and one for CD games all in one holder inside. It certainly CAN be the laser. The description id the DVD/Blu-ray part is having focus problems. Contact Sony for a service center that can install a new drive (It needs to be calibrated on install)
*If the resolution of the video content is not supported by the TV in
use, when the video is played the screen may go blank. If this happens,
go to the screen for selecting the resolution in the system's video
output settings, select "Custom" and then select all the resolutions
that are supported by the TV.
If this is an issue you have always had (meaning you just started using the system) it may be a resolution problem. If your PS3 is set to display movies or games in a resolution your TV can't handle, you'll get issues like this. Go into your video settings in the bar and check to make sure you don't have it set for something your TV can't do. My TV, for example, won't do 720p.
It may be a resolution setting issue...the game may be outputting in a resolution that your tv doesnt support. Try going to your video settings and knocking the resolution back to 720p for your HDMI output....in settings under video, select your ouptut, and uncheck the boxes next to the types above 720p. Also make sure you have latest software update for ps3.
You most likely have the updated drivers. You may have to go and change a setting. I found an answer on the PS3 website that may be of some use to you. I hope this helps you:
From the site: "go to bd/dvd setting and set the "108024hz" option off"
