Tv is working but there is a red banner at the bottom have of the screen. It reads check#2 fan. I have removed the back cover of the tv and with a visiual inspection checked for loose connections on the fans. I also carefully got rid of any dust build up. I have also tried unplugging and leaving it off for a few days. Any advice??????? Thanks

Your TV is not receiving or displaying the signal from your DIRECTV® Receiver.
Your receiver has correct guide information, but is not processing video correctly.
You are viewing a channel where an upcoming sporting or special event is scheduled or has recently ended.
Turn TV off and on.
Make sure light on front panel of receiver is lit.
Press the "TV/DSS" button on the remote control or front panel of the receiver (not all receivers have this option).
Reset the receiver by unplugging the power cord for 15 seconds.
Check all cable connections between the dish, receiver and TV.
If the picture is black, but the program title and description display in a banner the top of the screen:
If the problem is only occurring on a few channels, check the detailed description of the program through the on–screen guide on those channels. Often, we display a blank screen with a banner before and after a high–profile event to alert customers about the event.
Reset the receiver by turning off and unplugging the power cord for 15 seconds.
Run a signal meter test to check your signal strength (press "menu" and look under "setup" or "installation").
If your signal strength is below 70 (or below 60 on HD receivers) in clear weather on transponders 1 and 2, see our troubleshooting steps for "Searching for satellite signal. Please stand by." You may see zero strength on transponders 4, 12, 18, 20, 26 and 28. This is normal in many areas. Your system manual shows how to run cables and point your dish.
Some el.components are loose on tv circuit board.I have removed the back cover, supported tv picture tube 45 deg.against wall. This tv is heavy! One screw on left holds the circuit board to bottom case.Removed and supported this board on few heavy books.Turned tv on and gently probed all the componets on top of the board with plastic drinking straw. In my case transistors Q-830 and Q-421 needed resolder loose joints. These components are mounted on flat aluminium heat sink strips located sligtly left of center of the circuit board. Also blobed bit of silicone into base hole and foot of alu.heat sink to support it.
If you are comfortable on doing adjustment with working TV then take off back cover of TV and check flyback transformer, there you would see 2 control knobs, upper knob if to adjust focus. rotate it CW or CCW to obtain maximum focus on TV screen. Put back cover and enjoy.
This Tv make a lot problems with the color wheel and fan thermostat, lamp cool. Need be check the color wheel first. I am suggested dont have nothing on the back cover ( make hot or not ventilation). More information parts at tritronicsinc.com Thank you
Since the lamp generates a lot of heat, the fans are continuously monitored for correct function. The owner's manual should show you the location of the fans. Make sure that the grills covering the fans are clear of dust and that the fans are clean. Sometimes dirt can cause the fan blades to slow down enough to trigger the safety alert.

My dad and I fixed the TV/Video problem over the weekend using one of the solutions suggested. Make sure you stay away from the red wire running from the back of the tube to the circuit board.
1. Take the cover off the back of the TV. 2. On the bottom of the TV is a circuit board that is mounted on top of a plastic tray. Remove the cables running from the speakers by squeezing the tab on the white plug and pulling them up and off the board. 3. Looking at the back of the TV, pull the board+tray out (barely secured in there) and flip it 180 degrees so you're looking at the front of the board. 4. Desolder and remove the TV/Video push button. It's labeled on the PCB, and should be the second button in from the left. 5. Place the tray back in the TV and make sure the other buttons still remaining on the baord are aligned with the buttons on the front of the TV. 6. Put the cover back and you're done.
TV works as good as new again. Of course I can't use the TV/Video button on the TV itself, but the remote handles that fine. 20 minutes max, and no repairman needed.
i've never had to fix this problem before, but give this a try, it might work. remove the front bottom panel of the tv, their should be 2 to 4 screws then the panel should come off. it might need a little prying & sometimes they use velcro to hold it in place along with the screws. now remove the small plastic or wodden panel, another 2 to 4 screws. now in the upper right side you will find the screen/focus block ( 6 controls). i think the top 3 are screen & the bottom 3 are focus. you will need to adjust the screen control., use a flashlight to read it. now the center is the green tube, i do not remember if the red is to the right of left. the screen control is like the master brightness, which sould help with the low sensor output. if you turn up the red too high you will get small red lines on dark picture/or in a dark room. good luck.
