Question about LG 42PX5D 42 in. Plasma HDTV
I have noticed that my 42" plasma has a very thin vertical green line approx 3" from the right hand side of the screen. The line stands out more in when the picture is red and disappears when the picture is black. The line is the same whether watching satellite or a DVD. It was working perfectly well until the weekend, I have tried switching the TV off and leaving for a while - but no joy.
Is there anything I should do that I am not doing?
There is nothing more you can do.
I will take it as, that the green line is all the way from top to bottom. In this case the panel needs to be replaced. This is very, very expensive. If tv is out of warranty, it will be better to buy a new tv.

Hello, your tv seems to have a fualty panel, the color green, bars or lines on wide screens is not a good sign, i dont agree that is is finished, the tv internals are still good you can have this tv fixed if you find a replacement screen. a good idea is to search online auctions and surplus sites for a same model tv listed "for repair as is needs service" you can find one for a few hundred dollars. buy the non- functional tv and exchange the needed parts.
a simple remedy you exchange the screen or have a tech do it for you. if you diy remember to check that all voltages are correct. i know it seems difficult and you need to be patient searching. but you can find the model you need and restore your tv to its original state.
hope this helps..
