You need to install the drivers, if you don't still have the original disk you can download them at the link below.

Document sometimes doesn't print

If the documents are large or have a lot of pictures and pages, printing can take a while. However, if the same thing occurs with a one page letter, try re-loading the printer driver(s) and/or check the printer settings, especially those that have to do with spooling. It's usually best to choose the setting that allows the document to spool so it prints faster.

Just in case you don't have the manul, here is a link to the book in PDF format:

Can't hook up my lexmark x5100 printer to my dell vista computer.

Make sure that your programs are set to use the lexmark and that they're not defaulting to use the microsoft 'whatever' that's the default setting in most programs.

Also make sure that your WinSpool driver is working correctly. Viruses and worms love to hijack the winspool system, causing many problems including the inability to print.

How do i let other computers in the house use the lexmark printer

If the printer is connected directly to your computer and you want others to use it through your computer, you have to set it up as a network computer for remote access.

Your computer has to be on when other want to print.
You set up your network settings to allow printer and file sharing
then you go to printers and set it for sharing.

You have to config things based off the network you have.

If the printer has a network card, then you can plug it into the network directly and anyone can print to it as long as the printer is on.

You set up the printer through it IP. Us your main computer to install the drivers first, then go to install printers and follow the guid to locate your printer on the network. You will probably have to install the drivers on each P.C or laptop.

Now if you have absolutely no idea how to do any of this and are not inclined to try, then i wold suggest googling how to setup a network printer as well as reading the paper work that came with it, as alot of times they have the instructions in there.

Because going through step by step without being there would take me forever.

Good luck.

Prop bitmap dll not loaded

This often happens with Office 2007 and Dell or Lexmark printers. Go to Start, Printers and Faxes. Your Dell or Lexmark printer is probably designated the default printer. Change the default to "Send to [name of Office program]" -- it should already be listed in your printers and faxes. Then try your print preview. You shouldn't get the error.

Of course, you're not going to want to leave your default printer settings like that. But this step assures you that the problem is with your printer and/or its software, not with Microsoft's product. You'll want to contact your printer manufacturer to resolve it.

In the meantime, you have two choices -- live with the annoying error popups, or change your desired printer every time you want to print something.

Let me know if this helps!

Just installed 3in 1 lexmark 3600-4600series to computer everything checked okay but does not print foom computer comand was told by lexmark texpert it points to spooler files needing updated please help...

What a mess of a question! Absolutely run some updates on your OS, look in your Administrative Tools for logs about spooling and printing, and make sure those Lexmark drivers are also the latest versions (from the web, not the CD that shipped with the printer.) Your computer is pretty irrelevant unless the error relates to something unique about it; a correct problem classification would be all about your model of Lexmark, would it not? And in particular, the way Windows XP printing fails in the manner of pretending to pass something along to print, with whatever Lexmark settings you select, but nothing comes out even when you select the device from the Start menu under Printers and FAXes, even if you set the printer to Use Printer Online, right? All clear then.

My printer keeps saying that it is not communicating with the computer. I have a new computer, and a lexmark 3440 all in one printer. it says to enable biarectional commmunication setting in poper dialog....

ahh..a talking printer..nice upgrade..

do you have a current driver(other than the one that came on the disk, which MAY be obsolete)..

get a new one here(click on printer drivers and find the icon for Lexmark). then enter model number and find driver for your operating system.

un plug printer from computer..re install software. plug in printer as directed.
