It could be as simple as dust contamination in the LE or lcd chip. Before we added a clean room enviroment we simply pulled the LE and sent it in to PTS - who has one and reinstalled...

This sounds like the Sony blue star failure and this problem is under Sony extended warranty. Call Sony with your model # and serial # and tell them them you have the blue star issue and they will refer you to an authorized Sony service center and the repair will be free.

You will need to replace your two convergence I.C.s.They are two large IC mounted on a large aluminum heat sink.Replace both, look for any burned resistors near them, replace those if needed, and readjust your convergence. Good Luck

Hi Sandy, the problem with your TV is called "convergence". It can be a problem with the convergence board or more likely in this model in the power supply or deflection circuits. Unfortunately, troubleshooting by a technician is required.

I'm sorry to say that those lines or interference are cause by a hardware failure and no adjustment can correct it.
If your TV is only 6 months old, still cover under manufacturers warranty. Call the manufacturers and ask them how to go about this repair and hopefully they will send you to an authorized service centre.
Hope this helps.
