Question about Acer Aspire 3100-1405 Notebook
Acer Aspire 5315 has a restore partition to set it back to factory settings, which will keep your windows intact too, but reset everything like you just purchased it.
First boot up the computer and press F2 to enter the bios, make sure that D2D recovery is enabled. Then exit and press Alt + and tap F10 when the manufacturers name appears for example HP, Tiny, Hewlett Packard etc.. etc.. screen appears on boot. This will open the recovery program. Before you can run the program it will ask you for the password. This will be the password you chose when you first got you laptop. You may have chosen your user name password or left it blank. If you left it blank just press enter, if you did enter a password you will need to remember it, or try the word admin.
Once the system has been restored it will take time running a few checks, so be patient.
Also this will restore C:drive only, so the good thing is anything you have saved on D: drive will remain intact.
I hope this helps.
