Soundmax Hd audio not working.

The details are very lengthy but please read it completely.Just gave you all the information i know.

I have a Asus M2n-mx motherboard,Amd athlon X2 3800+.The motherboard is having a integrated Soundmax HD audio. The problem is that, I will lose the audio output just after 5 to 10min of booting my system.Ofcourse the time may vary. Its very random. If it doesnt work at all, i would have changed the chipset long back but it will work very fine some times.Once i loose the output, i should restart the system to get it back. Some times it says that ''no soundmax hd audio is present''. I was very frustrated and i bought a Soundblaster sound card. This worked fine for 1 year but stopped working immediately after the warranty period is finished. So again i tried if my old integrated audio is working.I installed the audio drivers and it worked flawlessly for nearly 3 months. I dont know why. Again the same problem started. I tried removing the Hardware acceleration but no use.I tried all the hotfixes from microsoft but invain. There is no specific program which makes it stop working. It may stop when listening to music or playing game or watching a movie. Its the same for Vista.I will get a disturbance in my headphones or speakers just a second befor its going to stop.I dont know how it worked without any problem for 3 months. Please any one figure out the problem.

SOUND LIKE THE CHIP SET IS BAD.
overheat??? or a bad solder joint. but either way it is related to heat.

try a can of cold spray, spray very small area at a time when the sound die. once you id the area then you can nerrow down by spray in a even smaller area. till you fine the part..

good luck

Have windows 7 64 w/soundmax integrated HD audio. What benefit is ASUS driver ?

You mean add-on ASUS sound card?
You will get better sound and maybe ASIO driver support.
On board HD audio requires more CPU cycles and does not support low latency ASIO drivers.

You can download the audio and device drivers from ASUS WEB site. Select your model motherboard/computer/laptop, and make sure you select drivers that matches your Windows operating system. No sounds

Isn't your sound muted? Please check your volume buttons. Please check if your speakers are connected and have power.
if nothing works, you could always try to download some new software from here: http://download.cnet.com/SoundMAX-Integrated-Digital-HD-Audio/3000-2110_4-146407.html

Can't configure audio on my new Asus P5QL motherboard

There should've been something on your ASUS CD that included the SoundMax driver. Without that you won't get audio. You might need to reinstall your CD again making sure you have installed the Soundmax driver. If you can't find it, look for Soundmax on the Internet. If the Soundmax card is properly installed you will see a little blue square on your bottom right task bar. If you click on the little arrow, you can adjust the sound volume. It also contains a wizard to help you diagnose problems.

Oh, you will need to make sure your virus programs are turned off before installing that program as well.

Sound card dosen't work (it is soundmax)

you can get this driver. You might have to look a bit for it. The driver will come from Microsoft though, not from Asus. I have several ASUS motherboards running windows 7. In most cases if you go to the devide manager, right click the "missing driver" for HD audio, Windows 7 has usually gone out downloaded the file by itself. But if you have to look for it, go to the microsoft website and search for HD audio in their downloads section.

Microphine not working with Microsoft UAA Function for High Defin

I bet you have to uninstall the sound card from device manager first and the restart the computer. Then try to install the sound driver again. If that does not work you may have to force install the driver from the add new hardware wizard in control panel.

I am curious, do you have a dedicated graphics card installed from ATI / AMD?

Newer ones have a built-in high-def audio also.
