Question about Microtek 710S 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor
I have a microtek 710s 17" lcd monitor that has no display. When plugged into the powersupply the power button flashes from orange to purple every three seconds and the display is black. When plugged into the computer the the power button flashes blue, purple , orange repeatedly and still black display. I could "do it yourself" if I knew what to do. Thank you in advance.
Out of range usually means that the computer is trying to use a resolution that is unsupported by the monitor. Try loading the PC in safe mode (for windows, press F8 before windows loads) and change the desktop resolution to 800x600, which is supported by pretty much any monitor. Restart the computer normally and you should get your video. Once inside windows you can experiment with different resolutions, and when it goes out of range, just wait 15 seconds for it to go back to 800x600.

SOURCE: I have a 710S 17
this monitor max resolution is 1280 x 1024, are you trying to go higher than this?
If not, then you kay have unstable DC in the power supply due to bad caps.
Capacitors kit: http://lcdalternatives.auctivacommerce.com/ he can make you a set of caps for you.
