it might be taking a long time because you have a lot of programs on your computer
try backing up to a dvd you can fit much more on dvd's "blue screen" you might be running your computer over its limits by not having enough RAM putting to much strain on the CPU add more ram or uninstall some unnecessary programs you might be better of doing a full factory restore then back your computer up to dvd'sfrom there
Restart your computer now as soon as you hit the power button keep on holding Alt key & keep on tapping F10 key Alt+F10 it will open the recovery console select full factory restore and follow on screen instruction (Note:this will erase all datas on the computer) hope this helps you
You may have just recieved the wrong set of restore discs for your computer. Have you replaced the motherboard in this computer at any point? The discs look for a specific code stored within the motherboard bios to keeps people from using system restore discs to install an operating system on whatever computer they want.
You can try contacting the manufacturer to see if they will send you another set of restore discs. They often charge for these, however, if you explain your situation to them they may send you another set at little to no charge.
For boot from disk first you have to set first boot device option in BIOS. for that when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key to enter in bios. Then go to boot menu then set first boot device as your cd/dvd rom. then save settings then insert recovery diks in rom then check. Then it boot from disk if your disk and cd.dvd rom works fine. Let me know if you need more assistance. Thanks.
you can try to search for them in torrentz.com, you need a bittorrent client software like vuze or utorrent to download the file but chances are you will find it there, its all free and easy to use. if you do find one on there, download it and then download infrarecorder, google it, and burn the .iso file to disc, its called a disc image file, and you should have yourself a new recovery disc. you can litterally find anything you want by searching torrent files, i just got a fully registered and virus free copy of windows xp pro and it works great, not exactly legal but oh well.
Hi. Azrul here. Here is 2 of my best solution for your problem:
1. Online support from your PC's manufacturer. Restart your PC using a Windows XP/Vista CD and download all the related drivers for your PC online (you will need your compaq presario model number for this)
2. There is also an option to purchase the restore disc online. Depending on the age of the PC that you purchased, just google for "Compaq" or "Hewlett-Packar"and get the restore disk from there.
If you use the restore disk it will return it to ME. The only other option for wanting Win 2000. If you have a copy of the disc you merely need to insert it. Then go through the steps to format then install windows. (Note: All information will be lost so back up all important data before reinstalling Windows.) Definetly do not use Win ME. Good luck, Lee
