Hi,

Basically, it would seem that your Technics could either have a dirty or weak leans. Initially, pls try cleaning with the use of a CD disc cleaner.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

I understand and appreciate your quick postback. Still would suggest to try the CD disc cleaner. As to the "NR", it could mean anything such as Noise Reduction. Better yet, may you postback the specific model number of the Technics unit? It would normally be on a sticker or nameplate at the rear of the unit.

Sir try to clean your disk by cleaning with smooth cotton without scratching the disk. also use cd lens cleaner to clean the lens of your stereo. just make sure the cd or disk your inserted is compatible with your stereo. it wont read if not compatible with it.

thank you for using fixya

First check the disc in any other proper device if the disc get properly read that means the lens in the device is faulty or got any dust particle collected on the reading lens so its nor detecting the disc in it.

if the disc in the another device also show the same message no disc the the problem is with the disc and not the device.

How should you connect your CD player to your av amp (both Technics) using an fibre optical cable?

It sounds like your CD player does not have an optical audio output. If so, you will need to get a "Digital to Analog Audio Converter". You can find them on eBay or Amazon for as little as $10. Connect your CD player's analog/RCA-style stereo cables to the converter. Then connect the converter to your receiver with a single optical cable. 6_20_2016_11_27_39_am.png

About 90 % of the time when i put a disc in to play on my logik stereo... it say;s reading for a little while and then disc err.... can you please help ?!? Thank you

The unit can recognize that a disc is present but is having difficulty reading the table of contents (TOC). A simple cleaning using a cotton swab and alcohol of the lens will often fix this problem. Try that and update this if you still are having problems.

My ancient Sharp CD - BA150 bookshelf stereo 3-disc CD player has suddenly stopped working. Even with 3 discs in tray, player won't recognize they're there and reads" NO DISCS" on LCD display....

I have repaired a lot of these exact Sharp stereo's and can say with certainty that you have a bad laser pick-up. The only cure for your problem is to have the pick-up replaced. It says no disc because that part is bad and can not read the disc, so it thinks there is no disc.

A repair for this would cost in the area of $125 to $150 depending on the rates of the service center you take it to.

This should give you the information you need to determain if it is worth fixing to you.

Sorry it is not something you could fix easy, but that is just the nature of these types of stereo's. That part, the laser pick-up, is a very expensive part. I have no idea why they charge so much for it, but it is killing the repair centers making so many of these too costly to fix.

I hope this helps, let me know if you require any further help.

Tienes que llevarlo a un centro de reparaciones ya que el sistema de cd esta fuera de tiempo por eso no funciona nada.Hasta que no lo pongan a tiempo no va a funcionar.

My Technics SL-DV290 stereo has stopped playing dvd/cds, it just says 'no read' when it initially scans dvd/cd prior to play Please help!

This means that the unit can tell that a disc is present, but can not read it. Try opening up the top and cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. Let us know if that resolves the problem.
Thanks,
Dan
