I have a Defy Auotomaid washer. The filter is at the rear of the machine attached to the sump. When it failed to drain I disconnected this and cleared out lots of coins, an alan key & dog name tag! Eureka I thought I had it wrapped up!....but it still will not drain. On the face of of it everything happens as it should, except that it will not drain. Can you help? the impellor swings quite freely. The outlet pipe is not blocked or kinked.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Means the drain is taking too long . Most likely that the drain sump filter is blocked. Remove the lower front panel and unscrew the large white thumb screw attached to the pump. Water will come out so collect it then clean and replace.
Check the sump the big black cup in the centre of the drum, it's got a plastic ball in it .Most probably its stuck up against the drum. Just remove and refit. Basically this code means that the pressure switch is jammed on full. This may have happened due to blockage or obstruction in drain hose. Check whether hose is plugged, if not then remove lower rear panel of the washer. You would be able to see drain pump and a large black hose on bottom of drum. Remove the hose from the pump; Always keep a container near you to collect the water from the filter/pump. Remove and clean the drain filter connected with the pump and hose. Clean the pump and let it dry for a while. Now restart the washer after 2-5 minutes and hope your washer will be cleared from the code.

Hi, OE-pump blocked. Disconnect the power before attempting any work. Use of an RCD (plug in power breaker) is recommended. Disconnect pump from sump hose and check for obstruction in either item. Pump removal: power off, remove cover, locate pump, (attached to other end of drain pipe).undo 2 wiring connections, 2 hose connections, and pump mounting screws. Remove pump chamber - some are held in with screws, others clip into place. Check for foreign objects round the impeller. If pump chamber is clear, may be a fault with the pump motor - in which case, replace. Also check the filter - generally located behind a panel at the foot of the machine. Some are obvious like little square hatches and some are hidden behind the trim panel at the foot of the machine. Once panel is removed the filter should be visible. Its generally a circular plastic fitting which unscrews in an anticlockwise direction. Some hotpoint, indesit and ariston filters are located in the big black sump hose (the one that leaves the bottom of the outer drum and connects to the pump). Remove the back cover, locate hose, remove the tensioner clip by squeezing the tabs together, remove the hose, take out filter and clean.
The filter is located in the sump hose at the rear of the washer.
Remove back panel and undo the clip that holds the large black hose onto the rear of the drum .
Inside it ,you will find the filter.
Remove and clean.

Leaks from the bottom of the machine are usually related to a sump issue.
You will have to remove the rear panel from your machine to see leak happening. Do not reach into the back of the machine while it is powered if possible. Be extremely careful.
The rear panel is held on by 4 screws, with these removed the panel will pull away from the back of the machine.
With great care you will need to start the machine to observe where the leak is coming from.
At the very bottom of the machine is a black rubber tube that attaches to the bottom of the tub. It splits and goes forward towards the drain pump & filter unit and it also goes towards the back of the machine and attaches to a white air chamber which connects to the fill switch via a long black rubber tube.
Leaks will usually occur in the rubber sump hose; at the air chamber; at the pump connection or pump; or in the drain hose. Careful inspection of these points should reveal its location.
Leaks coming from the tub area can either be a center tub seal or from the inlet water at the top of the machine traveling down along the tub.
Further clarification of the leak location is needed for further diagnosis
tilt the M/C carefully and look underneath for the pump its probably at the rear it may have a rubber sump under it feel for things ie squeeze the sump often ladies bra wirings escape the drum and end up in the sump and jam the impeller
its no big job to take off and clear if you put your finger in the hole you can feel the impeller fins see if they go round easily
hope this helps if not can you hear the pump kick in on the spin cycle?if not it probably is a knackered pump
