Laptop beeps 7 times

Try link: http://blog.parts-people.com/2014/06/27/dell-inspiron-m501r-m5010-beep-codes-diagnostic-indicators-2/ How to identify beep codes: When a laptop or computer first powers on, it goes through an initial set of diagnostic tests to make sure vital components are preforming correctly. These tests are called POST or Power On Self Test. When a test fails, the user is notified via POST codes, Light codes, or Beep codes. For diagnosing Beep codes you need to:
  • Power on the laptop or restart it if it is already on.
  • Listen to the number of consecutive beeps when the computer begins to boot. Restarting the laptop may be necessary and should not harm the laptop at this time.
Dell Inspiron M501R (M5010) Beep Codes # of Beeps Description Possible Cause(s) 1 BIOS ROM checksum in progress or failure System board failure, covers BIOS corruption or ROM errors. 2 No Memory (RAM) detected Memory or Memory slot failure 3

D845GVAD2 no bios screen no beep no boot

Hello here is the intel homepage:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Desktop+Boards&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+845+Chipset+Family+Boards&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Desktop+Board+D845GVAD2

Try to renew the power supply, with one you know is working.
I think that`s the problem.

The problem could ofcourse also be the mainboard itselves failing.
There is not much to do about that, other than renew the mainboard or buy a new pc.

Good luck

F2 & F3

I'm going to take a stab and assume the laptop is beeping after you start it up... if it is this is called a beep code, its telling you something is wrong with it or something has changed. F2 or F3 will probably take you into its BIOS or give you access to the boot order. When I used to upgrade memory in dell latitudes it would beep on boot and say something to the effect of 'amount of system memory has changed, press F1 to continue or F2 for bios'. If you made changes to the laptop's physical components it is basically telling you something has changed and wants you to go into its BIOS to confirm. If you have done nothing to do and its beeping on boot, then its telling you there's something wrong. You will be to determine the make and model of the laptop and then obtain its service manual to look up what the beep codes indicate... there are sort of like morse code, 2 beeps means this, 3 beeps means that etc. What is the make and model and did you do anything to do (i.e. upgrade memory) before this started happening?

I put a 1gb expansion ram in my toshiba satellite M35X-S149.  Did it with the battery out.  Put the new ram in the empth slot - - 256 mb in the other slot from the factory.  When I turned on the power, the...

Remove the 1 gig chip. Pull you battery out and unplug the laptop. Hold the power button in for 10 seconds. Put the battery back in and plug the laptop back in again and try booting it up. This should reset the BIOS and allow it to boot. The beep codes you are talking about are a memory beep code and it is normally caused by adding memory or a loose memory stick. Also try pulling the existing memory and resetting it.

I changed RAM settings in BIOS, now I can't boot - need to clean CMOS

well its quite simple.you have set the wrong latency for rams.
I suggest you put a latency around 3
reset the bios and check the latencyes..you know that you must have all the rams from the computer to the same data..like all the timings or latency.
good luck..
bye bye
