The black side prints with occasional overlapping lines ever since I had it refilled by Walgreen. I used later a new cartridge (type 70) but the irregularity still persist.Even an additional new one gave the same result. All along the color cartridge (20) works all right.
Any remedial steps you may recommend?

The only work around to this is to use two catridges(2 color and 2 black and white). The reason is the printer has a mechanism to check if the same catridge is being used again. SO when you have two cartridges when one is finished refill the other and use and vice-versa. This way you will be able to refill and use for ever without any problems..

No, I didn't get my problem resolved. I tried what I was told to do. It is weird that sometimes it recognized the cartridge and then other times, it doesn't. Can one cartridge go bad and the other print? I have a 888# that I am going to call tomorrow evening so maybe I can actually talk to someone. Thanks for all of your assistance.

If you let the cartridge run totally dry then they need to be reset or replaced, I have tried purchasing reset software myself and found then to be a waist of money as they do not reset the cartridge at all. Do yourself a favor and replace the cartridge and remember to top up the cartridges before they get half empty.
