Trying to add a PLU button that will have taxes applied to it when used.

We have three taxes that need to be applied to it.

  • drobbins343 May 11, 2010

I can see the "taxes" info on the report, but I need to know how to "apply" the taxes when a PLU button is pushed. I have three different taxes to apply.

I might be able to help if you can tell what the machine is. Brand and model number please.

    Thankyou.
This tells me that you have a TE-4500F series. Unfortunately, it also tells me that every single piece of programming has been lost and this machine will need a full RAM clear. If the battery has not been changed before, it should be replaced (internal lithium type) also to stop this happening again.

You need to get your dealer to dump your backup into the machine to recover your programming. If you have no backup, then you may have hours of work ahead to set it up again as there are many system options that have been lost.

Right. The battery will be flat, so it needs a full RAM clear.
I can get you up and running for simple use. The tax will be the muck around part.

    Try this:

    Turn key to program.
    Turn power off at wall.
Hold JOURNAL FEED button down (not receipt feed this time)
    Power on at wall.
You should see 'LLLLLLLLLL' or '000000000' on display. Let go of journal feed.
Type in 20830 on the number pad
    Press SUBTOTAL.
Wait. If you don't see 'P1' after 20 seconds, press SUBTOTAL again.

Now try turning the key back to reg mode, and sign a clerk (operator) on using the CLERK# button and try the machine. If you don't know how to use clerks, just let me know.

That's great. You are getting there.
Make sure you leave the machine on for 24 hrs to charge up the battery or you will be back to square one.

Since tax settings are different all over the place, I'll need to know what your tax rate is, whether you tax all products, and do you just want the total to include tax, or must it print tax breakdown?

Wow. They like to make you (me) work ******* tax don't they?
We'll have to do this in stages, as it is a very complex system in these machines.

First, we'll set three tax systems.

    Turn Key to PROGRAM mode.
    3 SUBTOTAL
    0125 SUBTOTAL
    2 CASH
    0 CASH
    5002 CASH
    SUBTOTAL
    0225 SUBTOTAL
    2.25 CASH
    0 CASH
    5002 CASH
    SUBTOTAL
    0325 SUBTOTAL
    9 CASH
    0 CASH
    5002 CASH
    SUBTOTAL

Now write this down on paper:
    Tax1 = 2%
    Tax2 = 2.25%
    Tax3 = 9%

You will need this info when we hit the departments.
Let me know when you have got this far.

Hmm. That's strange. Are you saying it gave an error when you tried to setup the three taxes? We need to get this part finished so we can start allocating them to the departments. Where are you having problems?

Why isn't it working?

It may have lost the program. Has the battery been replaced on time? You need the dealer codes to program it. One of the users has the dealer codes in this manual:

How do I get a grand total for just a department from a Royal 210dx cash register.

Are your departments set up properly?

This is how to check:

Running the Department Confirmation Report

You can print a report that shows the programmed information for a range of departments or for all departments. The range report is helpful if you want to see the programmed names of some of the departments, but do not need to see all the departments and other cash register programming.

You can also print a report that shows department information and sales.

For more information, see Running Management Reports on page 85.

Note:

Unless you specify a department range, all departments print in the
Department Range Report. This will take a few minutes.

To run a department confirmation report:

Programming > Department Set Up > Depart Conf Report

1 Press the Main menu (on) key.

2 Press the Arrow Down key to select Programming. Press the Amount Tend Total <Enter> key.

3 If you are prompted for a Manager Passcode, type the passcode number and then press the Check key. If you did not program a Manager Passcode, go to the next step.

4 Press the Arrow Down key to select Department Set up. Press the Amount Tend Total <Enter> key.

5 Press the Arrow Down key to select Depart C onf R eport. Press the Amount Tend Total <Enter> key.

6 Select how you want to see the report. If you select Display, use the arrow keys to review the report in the clerk screen.
