Question about Jeep Car Audio & Video

C/D locked in,can't eject

I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee , the radio works OK but the C/D player doesn't. I put C/D in and it locker up. I can not eject the C/D. Also the radio C/D face plate gets very hot to touch. Ihave installed a new deep cycle battery and it goes dead. Is this related to the radio C/D player problem? Thank you for your help

I have the same problem? I just installed a new battery into my 2005 Grand Cherokee Laredo.
Now my CD player doesn't even come on when I press the mode button. It won't eject the disc when I press the load button. The radio works fine however.
Also, when the car is off I can hear the disc changer making noise like a disc is stuck. How do I reset it or get the disc out if I can't even get to the CD player screen?

I am not able to switch to cd player in my 2005 grand cherokee radio

is bad, the CD drive is bad.
you have choices.
1: check all fuses.
2: replace it. $$$$$$
3: get it fixed $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ($50/hr x4 ? and parts, nah....)
4: dismantle it, and unjam it , clean it, make sure no broken CDs in sided or labels fell off inside, or other alien objects inside, blow it out.(canned air) (silent prayer?)
4: upgrade to a head end with USB port and run USB mem stick with 1000 of songs off a stick the sizes of a Chiclet gum.

id go with #4, upgrades are a big win..

I have a 2005 Jeep grand cherokee...with a 6 disc cd player. It has worked fine for 3 years since i bought the vehicle...(i used burned cds in it usually) and all of a sudden it will not play or read the...

this is a typical problem with the factory stereo. usually there is nothing you can do for the Cd player, because most likely a cd got jammed and broke or bent some internal components. however try usig a credit card to help eject. insert it partially into the slot and pull out if the cd tries to come out. if this doesen't work then you will have to have the cd removed by tearing it apart. this usually ends up with at least one or two scratched cds and a deck in a million pieces.

My Cd player in my 2004 Jeep grand cherokee laredo wont eject the cd. It recognizes that there is a cd there and will even play the cd when i press the mode button but it wont eject it. Any help is...

I have an 05 jeep grand cherokee and the other day when I went to hit the the eject button on the CD player it automatically went straight to the radio. After I restarted the vehicle I could hit mode and it would begin to play the cd again but if I tried to hit eject it would go to the radio again. It doesnt have a disc changer and everything else on the factory head unit is working find, the radio, all that stuff. I didnt want to start tearing things apart or trying to dig it out. I have sees some others with the same problem on here, but the answer are like "dig in there with tweezers" and I dont think thats the best possible way to solve the problem. Any Ideas?

2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Problem

I would start by checking all the fuses under the hood.
There is a fuse called IOD which the factory leaves out and gets put in at the dealer.
That fuse could be bad.
