Question about LG RUMOR Cellular Phone
I have the sprint lg rumor phone. It has a security code feature. I want it to lock after I use it each time. I dont want to have to go thru all the menus to lock it each time. Is there a way this can be done?
The only options is to lock now or at power up, the best you can do is set security to one of your directional pad options, its the closest shortcut

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Love the name. We stopped selling for them not to long after the merge because they have made it such a hassel to work with our customers. However you won't find much resolve for that problem.
You might have to explain what you mean by warped. I can tell you common causes of this problem. The causes of nearly all (I say nearly because I like to leave a cushioning margin) software crashes is when the software doesn't know what to do. Imagine if you will, I have blocks, and I need these blocks to go into one of two places. I get you to do it for me, so I hand you Block A and tell you to take it to point A, Block B to point B, simple task right? What if I give you a block and I tell you C and there is no Point C or you forgot somewhere on the way and remembered it is C?
Now, some people have it in their head that these machines are infallible but that isn't the case as they operate on electricty and are exposed to the enviroment. Dropping, extreme temperature, shock, inactive power flow, and pretty much anything that can alter that electrical flow will of course alter the stored data. This is why it is something of common knowledge to remove the battery and replace it to clear the cache.
So, since the reprogramming didn't work, it isn't a SIM based phone, and removing the battery doesn't work, it is likely that it is a problem with the board or the EPROM. To fix this, either the phone has to be reflashed or the main operating board needs to be replaced. I'm sorry if you may have found the information a bit overwhelming but I feel it is helpful to understand how it may have happened and what to look out for rather then just saying, "Oh, it are broke."
Now, for those of you who have a similiar problem who hold SIM cards (If you should find this through a google search or just trying to find an answer to this problem with another phone) GSM Phones (or phones which read from the SIMs about the account) can be dirty or damaged which can cause similiar effects as this. You'll know this to be the case when this happens when you either try to place a phone call, send a text message, or any reason that the phone tries to connect to the towers.
I hope this information has at least been helpful. And welcome to FixYa.com

The LG Rumor is a Sprint CDMA device. This means that it is activated on a network using the Electronis Serial Number programmed into the device. Once the device is powered up, it registers to the network and if that ESN doesnt match an active acct, then no service, and you may get a message asking you to activate your device. Sim cards are only in GSM devices (not including nextel and a few devices that have been dubbed world phones, allowing them to work on both CDMA and GSM services.)
So, all this was to explain simply that you can never put a sim card in a LG Rumor. There is nowhere for it to go. SRY!!!!!
