Question about Sony Handycam CCD-TRV318 Camcorder
The cassette seems to go into the camera alright, but when I try to record, I get nothing.
First I would suspect the record safety switch on the cassette. Look near one of the rear corners for a little red tab. If it's closed (covering the hole), then recording is disabled on that cassette.
Is there any indication in the viewfinder that recording is disabled? Usually an icon like indicator showing a cassette with a circle and slash over it.
If that's not the case, you might have a problem with you're record switch. Try using the remote to do it if you have one.
