Question about Kenwood Audio & Video Receivers

Changing sound levels with the remote was the issue, now the on/off switch works erratically . New batteries have been installed with no difference. The remote will work for a while when you change the settings on the main front panel. Have you heard of these problems with the RC-R0811 Remote Control or is a issue with the main unit. Everything appears to be working on the main unit when opperating in the manual mode. Your thoughts would be appreciated.ThanksDave

Yes this is typical of remote contols, what you could do is take the remote apart and get to the circuit board thats in it, wash the rubber keypad in warm soapy water and dry, get a damp clean cloth and clean the contacts on the circuit board, dry properly and put it all back together.
I hope this works for you as i has for me a number of times

kind regards

You either have a faulty remote, which will need to be repaired/replaced, or there is a source of electromagnetic interference nearby, like from a powerful speaker, TV, etc..

Of course, the IR sensor unit on the receiver may be faulty as well..

Try and unplug it for a while and plug it back in so it resets all of its settings..if that doesn't work the remote just might need to be replaced..

Most remote controlled volume pots are motorized. To be sure your remote isn't the culprit, set the volume and take the batteries out of the remote effectively killing it. If it still continues to fall off in volume, relocate the receiver to a different room to rule out environmental issues of it picking up a stray transmission from some other device. If all else fails take it to work if you can and see if it does it at a completely different location. If it still does it you'll have to take it to a shop for repair.

The wrong button was pushed on remote and I can't increase sound and/or switch from tv to cd and etc please help

The 'wrong' button?? Would it be one that switches the remote to talk to a different device?

Then treat it like a new installation and guard the remote from unintentional key presses.

Look at every indicator on the receiver and evaluate what they mean and if/how they could affect your symptom.

Start at Page 7 to understand the remote.

Hi, I have a Pioneer XV-DV77 DVD/CD Tuner. My tuner does not work most of the time but occasionally it does after pressing different buttons on the remote control. Sometimes it works if I switch off...

I'd advise eliminating any intervening hardware until you resolve the problem.

What exactly isn't working that also goes through a VCR to a TV? How is it all connected, specifically?

"Different buttons". Can you be more specific? Perhaps you just have a remote control issue.

"Dead" Remotes Can Be Saved How to Re-Start Your "Dead" Remote Control This only takes about a minute and will restart 1 in 3 "Dead" Original Remote Controls. Good Luck!
Step 1- Pull the batteries out of the remote and leave them out until Step 4.
Step 2- Press and release each and every button one at a time on the remote control until every button has been pressed and released at least once!
Step 3- If your remote has slide switches, you must move the switch to each position then repeat the button pushing in Step 2.
(When you're done, be sure to put the slide switch in the correct position to operate the unit the remote came with!)
Step 4- Put the batteries back into the remote, being very careful to install them correctly.
New batteries should be used if you're not sure about the old ones.
Step 5- Try the remote.
Special Note:
If you have a digital camera, camcorder or camera phone you can test the remote to see if it is emitting a signal. Face the remote towards the lens of the digital unit until you can see the front of the remote. Depress any button on the remote. You should see a light (steady, blink or flashing) being emitted from the remote. If you do then the problem might not be the remote but the sensor on the unit.

If it works, Great!
If not, it's time to call 1-800-Remotes or use this website to order a new remote.

Tv does not respond to the remote with sound

The most common solution to your problem is to install new batteries to the remote. Also sometimes the batteries are loose, fix this by putting a card board wedge between the batteries and the battery cover. If this does not work try reprograming your remote.

Att uverse receiver hooked up to sharp aquos tv, remote quits

first try new batteries and be sure you have pressed the AT&T mode button at the top left of the remote - if you still have issues then on the sharp tv menu - turn off any energy saver mode, Optical Picture Control, taking the picture mode from dynamic or vivid to standard, and if that doesn't work - try changing the backlight settings if your tv has one.

Onkyo TX-SR606 bass treble settings seem to make no difference

I ran into the same issue and was stumped at first. Then I noticed somehow I had changed the sound processing to "Direct" which meant the signal coming from the source was bypassing all of the control in the receiver. All I had to do is select another option (press stereo for example on the remote) and kick it out of the direct mode.

You can ONLY defeat this feature by modifying the circuit on the mother board. The remote availability has nothing to do with this feature on power on
