SOURCE: Door on my integrated AEG

Hi Chasmolly

Remove the inner stainless door panel by taking out the self tapping screws around the edge this will expose the door lock mech at the top
You will notice a small white plastic spigot protruding out from the lock mech, grip it with a pair of pliers and rotate to adjust the door lock pre load
It should snap shut and squash up the seal,do not do it to tight so you rip the trip panel off trying to open it !

Good Luck

While the washer is on and the water starts the door opens how to fix this? thanks

Hello Shirin;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

Push in the top and bottom trays. Close the door. Now, open the door. Are either the top or bottom trays pushed out?

In the bottom center is your water distribution vanes. Are they stuck up in the operating mode? Push the center water distribution vane down, push the top and bottom trays in, close the door and reopen. Are the upper or bottom tray sticking out? inspect the guide rails. Is there something blocking them?

So, your problem is:
1.) The trays are pushing against the door because they will not go in all of the way.
2.) You have a broken latch assembly.

You did not provide a model number. This is on a tag either on the top of the door or on the face of your dishwasher after you open the door

The soapcover opens when I close the front door.

The spring on the soap cover is not pushing the catch tightly enough to keep it closed when there is vibration of the top cover of the machine. Remove the spring if you can and stretch it out a bit and remount it. Otherwise, replace the spring.

My KitchenAid Dishwasher door won't stay closed. It keeps popping open after a few seconds.

I experienced the same problem after my tension cables broke. The door fell open with such force that it bent the hinges a little. If you've replaced the tension strings (which you should do every 5-8 years) then you don't have to replace the latch. I did and it didn't solve the problem.
Here's the solution:
Put a towel at the bottom of each side of the door by the hinge.
Push the door closed a couple of times to bend back the hinges.
Remove the towels and you're back in action.
Good luck

Hi, we have a Frigidaire FBD1050REM diswasher that the soap door intermittantly won't open, leaving soap all over. Any ideals? Thanks, Christine

I have the same dishwasher and the same problem. What works for me 95% of the time is to push the soap door latch once before I load the soap and close the door. There seams to be two positions on this latch and one opens better. Also, make sure your top rack is pushed all the way to the back before closing the main door.
Personallly, I am looking for a replacement dishwasher!

I opened the door at the beginning of the cycle to move something and then the dishwasher wouldn't start again. It still won't start and we can't get the water to drain either.

If the dishwasher was working fine before you opened it to move something, and now it does absolutely nothing, then I would suppose it is a door switch issue. The door switch is located at the top middle of control panel, and is there are a safety device to keep dishwasher from running with door opened. You need to play around with closing the door and pushing the top in various ways to see if you can get it started. However it is more than likely a faulty switch.

Does not dry adequately particularly plastic containers. Tried keeping door closed and opened after cycle . Dishwasher itself is also wet

your probablem is that your jet dry compartment is not full. im a old thermador tech. here is the trick: add jet dry until it is filled then close the door and raise door up then down then up then down 3-times what this is doing is taking the air out of the dispenser and making space for more liquid to be added by you. so add more until fill repeat steps until it cant take anymore. then run the faucet until the water going into machine is hot then turn the unit on . you will see a big difference. let me know how you made out with a 4 thumbs up if it works

Upper spray arm is not turning round even though water is coming through. We have checked the internal system for blockages and the machine is filling / draining as normal. When a full programme is run,...

I found the problem to be neither blockages of the upper arm or roof spray arm or the upper basket arm hitting the the back of the dishwasher. the problem was that the pump inlet where the food scraps are macerated was blocked with all manner of gunge including small chicken bones plastic and other detritus. Removal of the macerator housing under the upper filter housing using 2 different sizes of torx driver easily fixed the problem. Probably why the upper dish rack cleaning degraded overtime, Directly proportional to the amount of detritus blocking the intake screen behind the macerator.17a8801.jpgb9e8fa8.jpg789f2b8.jpgfb7a626.jpgator.
