Printhead has a problem HP Office Jet Pro L7590

I am getting this error"printhead has a problem HP Office Jet Pro L7590" I opened the print head cover by mistake and was checking the print head when it wanted to go to the left.. I closed it immediately but now I have the error. I was refilling the ink for the first time and did not know where the cartridges were. Is there a way to reset the printer?

SOURCE: Blank Ink not pumping to print head

Turn off the device after removing the printhead After removing the printhead, turn off the device, wait about 20 seconds, and turn it on again without the printhead installed. After it has restarted, reinsert the printhead.

it will go through this long routine of perhaps 20 min or so. after its compleate it should print great.

SOURCE: hp 6500 office jet refill

to refill 920:

1. If you have the plastic cap that covers the 9 mm. hole where you can see the sponge, then tape this cap to the cartidge with scotch tape. If not, use some duct/masking tape to cover the round hole.

2. Use the dry hypodermic needle to find the hole that will be found at the very center of the 920 label. With the needle, pierce the label.

3. Fill the hypodermic needle with 4 cc of ink.

4. Insert the needle 2-3 cm. into the hole made in step 2. Draw out 1 cc of air, then slowly force the 4 cc of ink into the sponge. Use toilet tissue to absorb any ink that might have escaped.

5. Let the catridge stand overnight (if possible) so as to allow the ink to evenly saturate the sponge. If not, insert it into your printer immediately.

Note: If you are going to refill catridges, be certain not to allow the sponge to dry completely. Thus, you might want to do step one immediately and to enclose it in a sealed sandwich bag upon removing an empty catridge from your printer even if you are not going to fill it immediately.

SOURCE: I refilled HP 88 cartridge but printer (Officejet

Under the cartridge is a black like pump - on a new cartridge this is hard and rests firmly on an area inside your printer. As you print, the pump becomes softer - this is how the printer determines it is empty. Once refilled, the pump does not get back to the original state. Open the bottom of the cartridge and put a firm solid piece of folded paper in there - make sure it is steady and re-close cartridge. It will now read as full but may also show full - judge ink levels by the quality of print. Also make sure chip has not expired.

Officejet Pro L7590 print test indicates print heads are "good" but cannot get through align printheads procedure without getting a fail message.

ALign the printer manually. TO to that follow these.

Click Start and then go to Printers and Faxes (XP), Printers(Vista), Devices and Printers(Win 7)
1. Right Click on your printer Icon 2. Go to Printing Preferences 3. Click the Features Tab 4. At the bottom of the window you will see Printer Services or Device Services. Click on it. 5. Choose Align Printheads on the list.
Try Printing Again. I hope I was able to solve your problem. :)

My office jet L7590 printer suddenly quit on me. It keeps playing a message that says the printhead has a problem

Did you let one of your inks run dry? If so, you need to replace the effected printhead. This model has two, one for black and yellow, and a second for cyan and magenta. If you let the yellow run dry but have tons of black, it still effects the black/yellow printhead. Same with the other, either color going dry makes its printhead go bad. Either printhead will set you back about $75. Easy to remove and replace once you get the new printhead.

Bottom line with this model of printer...DON'T let you inks run dry. A new ink cartridge is $20 vs. $75 for a new printhead.

FYI - This is the most common mistake/problem with this printer. The Inkheads are built to last at least 40,000 prints. That's several years for most of us, that is unless you let the inks run dry.

I have a Hp Office Jet Pro L7590 All In One. The blue ink will not work. I have replaced it and tried to clean it. Can I buy a new cartridge holder???? It works great other than that. HELP!!!!!!

Check the cyan ink supply line for air bubbles. These printers work off negative pressure between the print head and the ink supply. If there are bubbles in the line the negative pressure is disrupted and ink cannot flow through the print head.

Print to fax HP office jetpro L7590 does not work

Sounds like you need the fax driver for the jetpro L7590 . I went to http://www.hp.com, Selected "Downloads", "Drivers" and enterd "jetpro L7590" into the search. The next screen was a selection of OSs for Windows and one for Mac OS X and Linux. I hope the Mac one is what you need. If it is, download and install it.

HP L7590 black ink printing poorly even with new HP cartridge

I have had the same problem It is the print head not the cartridge If your printer is still under warranty have the printhead(s) replaced if not Open the unit where the print heads are and hold the OK button for 5 seconds. The Print head carriage will move to the left

Carefully remove the KY (Black & Yellow) Print head with a cotton swab and alcohol clean the contacts and replace the printhead. If this does not work remove the printhead and then with a spray bottle spray the nozzle area on the bottom (DO NOT TOUCH THE NOZZLES AS THEY WILL BE DESTROYED) HP techs have told me this will void any warranty so act accordingly I use a printhead cleaning solution available from most any online ink supplier

Replace the printhead after it has dried out (less than a minute). The printer will then go through an alignment cycle and should print I had to do this several times before the print head performed as it should
