Well, I have the same problem happening with my 360. However, there is absolutely no way it can be an overheating issue as it happens within 2-3 minutes of turning on my 360, even if its been over a day since its been used. It happened this way the first time and everytime its been turned on since. It can't be an overheating problem as it barely has time to warm up, never mind overheat. And before anyone asks, it is well ventilated and away from heat. I have tried the 3-ring fix as it was claimed that it fixed all red light errors, to no avail. I am stumped as to what would cause this. Any suggestions out there?

i have had the same problem of two red lights. i took it in for repair and was informed that two red lights was more likely to be a drive isuue (it was in my case a drive issue). this was replaced/fitted for £39 at a local game shop. i have been told three red lights is the only known overheating problem and you can get this repaired free of charge for up to 3 years through the offical site contact but not the 2 lights which is not a recognised heating issue.

I have the same thing happening. Sometimes I'll actually make it to the dashboard but most of the time the fan just starts running louder than it ever has and I get the lights and it shuts down. It's well vented, clean and away from heat.

My 360 has two red rings on the left side and it sucks since it works for 5-10 minutes. I think its another screw up of microsoft since they **** at constructing WORKING systems. It's not the red ring of death though which i assume.

I posted my problem on here awhile ago and no one seems to be able to help so here goes again. I get the 2 red rings on my 360 in well under 5 minutes of turning the machine on, even if it hasn't been on in a WEEK. I know the code means overheating, but how the **** could it possibly overheat in under 5 minutes???? The machine is very clean inside, well ventilated and away from any sources of heat. I just don't understand how it could possibly overheat that quickly.

Well all that means is that your xbox has overheated... you're addicted and play too much. Just take a break. That is what 2 lights are and the fix is to STOP PLAYING!

I suggest you to try DIY Guide that wil explain solving the 2 Flashing red ring along with some other common problems of Xbox like Disc Read Error, No Video Problem and most famous RROD. Even a novice can solve the problem with the help of step by step process given at the guide. I think it's worth trying. If you try this method, you won't have to wait for 3-4 weeks and you can enjoy your gaming experience within 2 hours, once you try this guide.
