This windows icon only appears on the internet explorer window on the toolbar. SO I'm guessing you somehow accidentally got you IE window Floating and pushed up a bit to the point of NOT seeing the close box.

To resolve your problem findow the IE window tab on the start bar. right click it and select close. this will close the window and when you reopen itthe close box should be in a position that you can view.

If this fails then do the same thing but rather than select "Close" this time I want you to select "Maximize" this should stretch the window to cover the viewable screen bringing the close box into view.

If you still don't get your desired results please post back hear so I may help you further

How do I get google as my home page?

If your question is .... how to make google.com as your home page on your browser ... (i.e. it is not about computer speakers) here's how:

If you're using Internet Explorer browser, click on theToolsicon1.png (menu item) ... and at the bottom of the drop-down window, click on "Internet Options". A (smaller) window will open, showing under the General (tab) ... your current home page. Simply edit (or add) into that (top HOME PAGE) window,www.google.com then, click on APPLY at the bottom right corner.

Now when you open your Internet Explorer (browser), it will go directly to google.com.

If you use the Mozilla Firefox browser, you'll want to click on the "Tools" menu item. A (smaller) "OPTIONS" window will open. Click on "General" and you will see the (current) STARUP Home Page URL address. Simply add/replace that with www.google.com and click on OK.

Now when you open your Mozilla Firefox (browser), it will go directly to google.com.

This process is similar with other browsers ...

No sound

Hi, click on the "Start Button," in the (right pane) Control Panel, next in the category listings, select Hardware and Sound, open, and click on the "Manage Sound Devices." The Sound window will open; click on the "Playback" button, there should be a Speakers Icon, click on it, look below to find the "Properties button, click to open the next window. In the next window there will be (4) four buttons "General, Level... First click on the "General" button, in the top of the window there will be a "Driver" button, click on that button to open. Select to "Update Driver," just click on it, the Drivers2_bing.gif will be updated for you. Next you ca go back and press the other areas, Speaker Level etc... Next if you have a "MIC" do the same for the (Microphone) as you done for (Speakers) in the [Recording] category. Note: "Remember to click on the "Apply and OK buttons afterward to make sure the changes take effect. "Restart the computer to finalize the changes." "Rate the solution on it helpfulness, its away of letting me know if you resolved the the problem or you need further assistance, thank you."

Where can I buy the power suppy for the sound sticks II?

Q1: Do you have the original power supply and it is broken? Or did it disappear somehow?

If it disappeared, then you are not in luck. Even the parts web page of HarmanAudio.com doesn't have it in stock.
http://www.harmanaudio.com/search_browse/partlist.asp?Parts=SOUNDSTICKSII

You can contact the company: Harman Multimedia
8500 Balboa Boulevard, Northridge, CA 91329 USA
1.516.255.4545

If it is broken, it is possibly under warranty. Contact them at the same phone/address.

I cant even find the program for my sound and now there is no sound how do i fix

Make sure the hardware is all connected correctly, getting power, etc. Right click on My Computer, choose Manage, click on Device Manage, right click on the Sound section and choose Scan For Hardware Changes. These steps are for Windows XP. Hopefully, it's close enough if you have Vista or Windows 7.

HOW TO INSTALL A DRIVER FORCEFULLY
----------------------------------
1. Look for the icon named "Computer" or "My Computer" and right click on it and select properties, this will open a window named "System Properties".
2. In the system properties windows click on the tab named "Hardware", and Select "Device Manager".
3. On this window you will see all the devices installed on your computer, look for the device not working properly (printer, dvd rom, keyboard, camera, mp3 player, etc), if there is a bigger problem, more likely you will see a cross by it, or an alert stating there is an issue with it.
4. Right click on the device you where having problems with and select uninstall, it will give you a confirmation, press OK
5. Once the device disappeared from the list, click on the menu bar icon that looks like a computer with a magnifying glass this will cause for the system to scan for any devices not registered and will force the re installation of the device.

Speakers turn on but no sound

No your sound drivers are gone. Actually they're corrupted, but we'll just say there gone.

Drivers are small pieces of software that allow an Operating System to 'communicate' with a device.
In your case Windows XP is the Operating System, and the speakers are the device.

Suggest you go online to your computer manufacturers website, and go to -> Support.
Support should be somewhere on the computer manufacturer homepage. Sometimes at the top.

On the support page, type your computer model name and model number in their search bar.

(Example: HP.com
On their homepage they have -> Support & Drivers listed at the top. You would click on it.
This takes you to their Support page. On the Support page they have
-> for product: <- and a box to the right of it.
You would type -> Pavilion dv5220us <- in the box.
(Example computer)
On the next page, it would be the Support page for the Pavilion dv5220us. You would see ->
Drivers & Downloads
You would click on that. Then you would click on the -> Audio drivers)

Outlook express

dear fando,

This is usually down to a corrupt or over-full email inbox. Outlook Express is not very good at holding large amounts of emails especially if they have large attachments. I had a user this morning with a 2.5 GB inbox.

Backup/rename Inbox (C:\Documents and Settings\(User)\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{GIU}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\inbox.dbx -> inboxbak.dbx).
Close Outlook Express.
Open Outlook Express.
Outlook Express will have created a whole new Inbox.
Your email should now work.

Best wishes.
