SOURCE: everything works on my record player but my turntable doesnt spin

This happened to me tonight. I had the same problem, to activate the player on you need to move it to the right until you hear a click. If you don't do it it won't start. Even if all the power is on. This should fix everything!

SOURCE: Turntable does not rotate when switched 'on'.

Throw it from a second story window then smash it with a sledgehammer. That's what I plan to do with mine.

Either the stylus is worn or you have not got enough weight to the stylus. As you don't state which type it is all I can say is look at the end of the arm and see if there is a weight with numbers on. Increase the pressure to the stylus by setting it a higher number. Do it in stages till the stylus stays in the grooves without causing rumble to the sound.

the selector for the wurlitzer 45rpm will not select a record, when you put the money in the wheel just keeps going round and will not pick up.

Hello,

Have you checked all the fuses or circuit breakers on the jukebox?
Are all the power supply led's lit?
Make sure that all the connection plugs into the boards are fully seated and making good connections.

After checking the above if the fault remains you will need to contact a Wurlitzer service engineer.

I have a Rowe R-89 jukebox. Even though the motor is turning on the turntable, the turntable is not moving. Should there be a washer on the turntable base to elevat it so it will turn?

Hello Robert,

You say you have a R-89 jukebox and the turntable motor is running, I assume that the pulley on the top of the motor is clearly seen turning. Is the turntable belt loose or missing?
From your message I am not sure that your jukebox is a R-89, could it be a 1978/1979 R-82 or R-83 that uses an idler wheel.
On this model the turntable motor is 110 volts AC.
If the above is true check that the idler wheel and the linkage spring is pulling the idler wheel against the turntable and the motor shaft.

Carosel doesnt turn on rowe ami r-82 jukebox

First check to make sure you are getting power to the drive system. If turntable is belt driven, check power to drive motor, then check the belt. Otherwise it is direct drive, which means the turntable is connected directly to ths motor and the motot will have to be replaced.

Need to make hole bigger on a 45 record

I am aware of jukebox mechanisms that would clamp down on the record, and if it detected a small-hole in the 7" disk, it would change the RPM to 33 1/3, and the large hole would mean 45 RPM.

However, if we drill down into the history of the development of the 45, we can see that it was developed as a replacement for the 10" 78 RPM disk. It was also intended to be played on a distinct 45 RPM player, and thus the large hole to discourage use on regular turntables.

Most of the 45s in the UK had a pushout centre (some round, some triangular). 33s didn't have this. Ex-jukebox records had the pushout pushed out, and clip-in new centres could be fitted

How do I slow the speed of the 45s on my rowe r-92 jukebox .The records are playing a little too fast

Hi,

The turntable motor on the jukebox range of R-84 to R-93 is none adjustable.
If you are in the USA then the motor operates on 60hz but in Europe it would have to be on 50hz to do this a different pulley is used.

The Rowe Ami part numbers are as followes:-

30791907 Turntable Motor Assembly 60hz
30791908 Turntable Motor Assembly 50hz
21817801 Motor Pulley 60hz
21817802 Motor Pulley 50hz

These can be ordered from a Rowe Ami dealer or you could try www.victoryglass.com

Wont eject disc

Ouch!
1. power OFF
2. UNplug cord at wall
3. Turn ON jukebox (w/o power cord plugged in)
4. Turn OFF jukebox
5. Plug cord into SURGE PROCTOR (not wall, not simple power strip)
6.Turn ON jukebox.
7. If it doesn't work, try once more; otherwise ... *sigh* repair/replace..

I have a old antique wurlitzer and the records are playing very slowly what can be causing this

Bad drive belts.
Motor needs servicing (most likely).
Hasn't been converted for 50 Hz.

Look in the back. If you 'pop' a pin on the selector ring (press at the bottom of the small springs) so it pops up and the machine then plays o.k. then it is probably a bad contact in your keyboard leaf switches. Run a stiff piece of paper or card between the contacts to clean them.
If it doesn't play, then you have more complicated problems.
