Question about Televison & Video
Problem started with noise as disc loaded and played. Then there were problems using the remote to send directions to the player. The buttons on player worked. Finally the picture went away and was replaced by a colorful test pattern type screen with lines and dots. Sound continued. All cables were checked were correct. Power was disconnected and reconnected. Problems continued.
Is there some type of formula for resetting the player?

Have you tryed to use a lens cleaning disc yet. The laser lens on these players and recorders alike, must have the lens cleaned every oince in awhile. If that does not help, most likly you have a bad laser pickup assembly and you will need to replace the plaer as to have that repaiered, you could buy a new unit. Good Luck

I have the same model player it pauses some of the times on some disks in some locations, I read at videohelp.com a resolution for this for skip frames for those who use PAL and mine skip frames after pausing though I have not tried PAL perhaps this remote code solution might fix this or some have had firmware updates though I could not find any firmware updates as any solution by CyberHome being this happens only happens some of the time it might not be possible to resolve this and taking it to a repair shop likely would not be worth it I am unsure if some software versions helps this Please let me know what you find out, okay? Email does not always go through, hence if you do not get a reply in 24 hours after you email me please try to contact me else how, okay? What is your name address and telephone number?Simncerely, Steven Bolin (206)937-2467 2851 SW. Yancy St. Seattle, WA 98126-2543 (206)937-2467 email@example.com

Sorry, no suggestion other than don't buy Samsung. That's my conclusion after owning the same model. It worked fine for a while, but now won't load any DVD... usually. Sometimes it will play one, but more often it won't. Mine tries to load ("Loading") for a long time, I hear the DVD spinning, then ultimately the screen displays "This disc cannot be played" or something to that effect.

SOURCE: Won't load DVD
call support from manufacturer on how to reset your player,
For instance, on Samsung players after it is powered on you hold in both channel buttons for 10 sec and the player restarts. that fixed mine that had the same problem
