Re: kenmore elite 110.2949 water leak from center front...
Check your pump. The pump is located on the end of the motor. You can tip the machine back and pull the pump off to check it. After you take the pump off. Check to see if there is a water stain where the shaft of the motor goes through the pump. If so you pump is leaking.

The first thing i would check is your boot around the door for a rip or tear. Also check the drain line for any types of leaks. You can also remove the bottom panel there will be three torx screws and you can look at your drain pump while in spin and drain cycle to see of the leak located in that area.
We experienced the same thing. I was able to restart and locate the noise to the water pump. After disassembling the water pump found the impeller shaft sliding out. For some reason this shaft will not stay in place. Had to order a complete pump assembly as the electric motor is not available.
sounds as if you have a drain issue, most common cause of fault is theres something stuck in the pump housing. remove the lower acess panel(3 screws along the bottom of the forn of unit) youll gain acess to the pump housing, remove the large cover to the "button trap" by uncscrewimg the cover, it will be righthin front of you in the center of machine when cover removed, im sure youll find your blockage within there
CL or CA is an over amp draw most likely caused by the motor thermal protector or motor controller It can be caused by too large of a load try to press "STOP/CANCEL" to clear if the problem returns you will need to get inside the unit
The most likely thing to cause the code and the leak is the water pump. If the shaft seal on the pump leaks, the water gets into the drain pump motor and shorts it out. The code is telling you there is a high current/amp draw at one of the motors.
You can see if the pump is leaking by tilting the machine back, removing the screws that hold the bottom to the front edge of the machine and looking at the pump. If the pump is leaking, you will need a new pump and possibly a new motor control board.
Post back if you need further instructions and we will walk through the repair.
Well there is one of two control boards that is malfunctioning, most common is the Machine (or Main) control board, there is also a display pc board in the control panel, but i have had few problems with that control. Unfortunately the main board is $300.
