Please help. I have been handed down a britax ASIs car seat which has isofix. Problem is my car does not have isofix. Can I still use it? And do I need to take isofix off? Thanks

Usually the ISOFIX is simply an easier way to tether the seat to the car. Some believe it is safer than tradional tether methods.
You can simply use you car's seatbelts to hold the car seat in. The car seat has 2 large holes behind the childs lower back and that is where your car seat belts slide thru and then click into their connections.

SOURCE: Lost my Instructions for a Britax Asis Car seat

First attach the long belts to the bottom of the chair. Then feed them through the seat cover and replace the cover. Feed the belts through the back of the chair (through the required shoulder height) and attach to the metal harness at the back of the chair. The folded over edge goes on first, so make sure you put the right belt on the right side! Finally, feed the padded shoulder straps through the same hole as the long belts at the to of the chair and that's it!

SOURCE: We have a Britax Isofix car seat and the red clip

Yes but it is a question of ethics and expence/expense! There are belts and hasps/clips/ manufacturers but they may not sell to the public considering the liability of unauthourised fitting. I would go to a recycler or junk place, buy from web auction or newspaper, and get another used seat or the parts from another model and adapt them to suit. Get it checked out by a reputable dealer also. I think it is illegal to tamper with them anyway. Local bylaws or stautess would apply depending where you are.. Remember the safety and life of your child is involved...

SOURCE: not sure how to install our 2nd hand britax asis ,

There are some wonderful resources out there for assisting in CORRECTLY setting in a protective car seat, and im glad youre not throwing a seatbelt around it and 'calling it good"
Hospitals....before children come home, many hospitals will offer assistance in setting in your carseat safely and correctly, as there are a vast number of brands and types.
They will be very happy to assist you.

Fire stations/Police stations....
the former will have much experience with car seat correctness, and how best to position for maximum safety. Police stations may have the inclination and desire to help, but the individual you speak with may not actually have the correct answer...so id firmly reccomend them, in that order!

Safe travels!

Duoplus isofix britax car seat ,,can't get the green buckle to release the extension bars it seems to be jammed

You should get someone qualified to look at your seat if there's a problem with it. If you decide to fix a problem on your Britax car seat and end up damaging it, that will be a bigger problem. Remember that is your child's safety which might be at risk.

Can you retro install Isofix in a 09 reg x type jaguar estate

Not in the United States. But if you have a seating position in the car, you may use the seat belt to install the seat. There is no safety difference between using the seat belt or ISOFIX/LATCH.
Note: Not all child seats fit in all cars!

Does my car have isofix? ford focus zetec 55 plate ,3 door

Probably not, what it will likely have is the mount points under the seats which you can attach the isofix mount to. Apparently the isofix mount is £16. we have the 5 door 55plate zetec, just investigating car seats myself...
