    thank for your response...

so you think that i should check the settings, right??

the only thing that i am worried about that something burned and the channel is not working...but the other channels are working properly. i have set 7 channel stereo mode on my denon avr 887??

Do you have any suggestions where in my settings should i go. On the screen it looks that all speakers are recognized, but this one is not working...

The problem you have seems to be on programing the master effects to get to it go to main menu and see the distribution and effects you want to hear on you home theather.remember that home surround needs some decoders to send the sound where the images come and its right built in....

ok the only thing yo can do is to check the outputs on the rear with a multimeter and watch if the readings are some equal to the others outs in this case you may complete secure what your problem is .........

Sorround speakers not working though connected correctly

Without knowing exactly what your problem is, perhaps you are not playing sound that was recorded in at least 5.1 format. A DVD or BluRay will indicate the format on the cover. The data is decoded and split into (for example) six discreet audio channels. Left front, Centre front, Right front, Surround Left, Surround Right and LFE (Low frequency effects) If you are playing a standard stereo audio disc, then the sound will only be heard from the front L&R speakers, which are expected to be full range speakers. You can, however choose an audio configuration that also provides a signal for the SUB (LFE) and even a pseudo surround. If you want more info I'm happy to help. Just tell me exactly what sound source you are playing and we can work it out.
Cheers for now, Don.

Weird surround sound speaker behavior with Denon 2105 7.1

Sounds interesting.
It may sound silly, but can you check all your speaker cables again and confirm whether they are connected to the right connections. please check all cables as also the severed one and please repair it also.

Now please go to the system-set-up and do an auto setup and set up your speakers. Listen to the test tones and confirm that they are coming out of the correct speaker.

Once these are set, then if still there is mismatch of sounds, then we could further trouble shoot.

5ch/7ch stereo in 5 channel mode

Front panel button engaged for 5 or 7 channel operation? Also check front panel rear surround speakers button is engaged. Should get you back to 7.1 unless you have changed the rear surround speaker setup for a 2nd zone, also be sure you have a 7.1 DSP setting enabled.

Check the center channel speaker and the surround sound audio settings. If you do not have a center speaker, it needs to be set to off on the receiver.
