Shut it down, pulled both the Micro SD card and the battery and let it sit for over 2 minutes. Still have the camera issue. I just recently upgraded the AT&T software to the 8300 5.4. Going to try and down grade it back to the 2.4 and see if it works or not.

This message displays any time i try to access the camera. "could not start the camera. close other applications and try opening the camera again". please help.

This is what you should do, press and hold the menu key.. you'll get a display in a rectangular form with all programs that are currently running on your blackberry.

You can scroll through the open applications and for you to close all running applications, you'll have to click on your trick ball to get you to that open application and then you close it.

Go over the process of holding the menu key for about 10 seconds again until the rectangular window opens with applications that are currently open.

Click on another program and close it.... do this for all the applications until your have about 4 applications running. Once it's reduced to this you would be able run your camera.

if you hold down the blackberry button....(dots).....a menu will pop up ....those are all the apps the you still have open...go into all of them and make sure you manually close them out....choosing the close selection on the menu....and ur camera should come right back on...the same happened to me......

Camera wont work, wants me to close apps and try again

Sounds like you may have a corrupted java system. Try to reload the OS by going to the website, an downloading the desktop manager 4.7 fairly large, as well as the Blackberry device software. Depending on Carrier it should be the 4.5 version. Install the desktop manager, then install the handset software. Plug the phone in let it detect the settings, and then use the application loader to reload the handset software. It will back up your settings, and applications, and restore them once it's completed.

Could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening the camera again

Very gently take the back off of the Blackberry, slightly push in on the camera itself, reboot and the camera should work.

I found out the hard way selling my phone on eBay only to have it returned because the camera didn't work. It's a hardware issue and not a software issue.

If it's still under warranty, try and get a new phone, otherwise --problem solved.

How do i reset blackberry curve 8330 to factory settings

are you actually going to the menu button and selecting close on each screen or just hitting end or the return button to get to the home screen? If you don't actually select close in the menu screen some progams remain open. go into all applications when there press the menu key and scroll down to close this should help
