Question about Compaq iPAQ H3850 Pocket PC

1 Answer

Can only use when it's plugged in

I have a compaq ipaq pocket pc h3800 series and it's been sitting for awhile and now i can only use it when it is plugged in. the charge light does not come on. if i unplug it it dies immediately. then i have to set it up again. it's been plugged into the wall for about 6 hours now. Not only that when i tried to set it up on the main computer it tells me that it cannot find the device. is the battery gone completely or is there something i can do?

I have the same problem with mine. I just got a new battery too, and when i plug it in, it turns on, and i have to set it all up. On the power properties screen, it says charging, but never goes above 1%.

I had the same problem, and did a lot of searching. Go to this site:

Download new BIOS for the unit, and follow the instructions very carefully. Depending on what kind of cables/dock you use, you might have to get creative in order to pull it off. It took a few times of trial and error, but now my unit works perfectly. Good luck.

Microsoft Visual Studio - Can I use this to program for an iPAQ H3600 Series

The only thing I can think of that you would need(in addition to MS VS) is an SDK for PPC2002 or PPC2003. Not being a programmer, I can not say for sure, but I am aware of different Software Development Kits for the different versions of Windows, including PPC.
