Hello,

Depending on which model of Pavillion you have, you usually can restart the machine and start tapping either F10 or F12 as soon as the monitor lights up and before you see the Windows logo to start the restore program from the hidden partition if it still exist.

If neither of the keys work you will probably need to purchase a set of cds. You can contact HP with the information listed here.

Hope this helps. Please remember to rate this information.

Thanks

Check to see if there is a recovery partition first, to do this press F8 on boot up, if you have no boot partition then you have to go out and buy a OEM copy of vista

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have a hp pavilion dv6815nr. it initially had Vista installed on it. I installed XP on it and got all the drivers to work except the audio. Have tried alot of drivers and nothing seems to work. Any...

The only source of drivers I know is to go to the hp site and put in your computer model on the support link and select XP as the operating system. There is a good chance that this computer was designed for Vista and there are no drivers available.
I would strongly suggest you upgrade to Win 7. You'll like it much more than Vista.

Windows Vista freezes while loading up& Blue Vertical Bars appear

Hi

Reflashing the bios doesn't make any difference.

Check in the BIOS Screen whether notebook scree has the same issue if it is the same then it is a hardware issue if it is fine in the bios screen then need to run the hdd and memory test

After the test result we can decide next steps

> If hdd and memory test passes - then reload the os.

To login to bios - Reboot the system and keep tap on f10

CANNOT WATCH MY EPISODES ON ABC

You can try two things here:
1. Run windows update to make sure you have all the latest updates for Internet Explorer.
2. Download Mozilla Firefox from www.mozilla.com and see if that browser will play them. I had a computer once with Vista that would not play Youtube videos at all, no matter what I did, but I downloaded Firefox and it works perfectly. Vista can be strange sometimes. Good luck.

I dont like Vista so my GEEK nephew took off Vista and put XP on my Pavilion Notebook....not a good idea..Now I find I should have made recovery discs and I did not. Can Vista be downloaded or do I need...

Shea,

If you want Vista the only way you can "Download" it legally is to buy it from Microsoft direct. and download it through their download center.

But if your computer came with windows Vista on it you should be able to get the restore disc from your manufacturer for SIGNIFICANTLY less. Usually just the cost of the disc and shipping.

If you don't like Vista, why do you want to put it back on? Is Win XP causing problems?
If so if you describe them and give up what Model pavillion you have we might be able to solve those for you instead.

Hope this helps you

It does not include a webcam. Thsi notebook seems to come with windows Vista. If you must have a web cam make sure it is 100% compatible with windows Vista. Below is just one.

You can search the internet with google type in, USB Webcam for Vista. There are many more.
