Hi,

May I offer another view?

Your description:

  • will not spin - unit is in protective mode, it has sensed an error, a faulty component or status;
  • panel the numbers come up backwards - maybe not backwards and not numbers but letters designating an error code.
Pls post back the error code message.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

The water level tube (tube that runs from the square box), access panel on the outer drum where the bleach tube also ends) from the pressure sensor switch (front panel) can become clogged. Or the two holes from the outer tub into this square box panel on the outside of the outer tub can become clogged. Either clog, I am told by my help repair guy can cause the sensor to think that there is still too much water in the tub and so will not allow motor to activate spin. ~ If the water level control contact is bad, it may also stop the filling ok, but not tell the washer to start agitating.

Hello!!

Sounds like you have a drain problem. Remove the front panel ( 2 or 3 screws at bottom) right in middle remove the round fitting and clean out this trap and try washer again. these washers are programmed to not spin if Any water remains in them to prevent damage to machine because they spin so fast.

    It doesn't
    spin

    If your washer won't spin,
    check these:

    It doesn't pump or
    spin

    It pumps, but doesn't
    spin

    It spins only with
    the lid closed

    It doesn't pump or
    spin

If it doesn't pump water out
or spin, check to see if the motor is running, then proceed as follows:

    • If the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley or a
broken pump belt. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try
to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or
stiff--replace it. If the pump belt is broken or looks quite worn, replace
it--but be sure to check the pump pulley before you change the belt.

    • If the motor isn't running, the lid switch may be defective. If so, the
washing machine can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the
washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or
open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's
defective, you need to replace it.

    It pumps, but doesn't
    spin

If your washer pumps out the
water but doesn't spin, check these:

    • The lid switch may be defective. If it is, the washing machine doesn't spin.
The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often
you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the
switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

    • The motor coupler may be broken. Many Whirlpool®-manufactured washers use a
small, relatively inexpensive motor coupling. It's plastic and rubber and is
mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the
other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails. You may need to replace
      it.

    • A belt may be broken. Many washing machines have one or two belts. If a belt
is broken or badly worn, you need to replace it with a genuine belt from the
manufacturer. (Some washing machine belts are designed with special
characteristics not found in automotive belts.)

    • The clutch may be worn. If your washer is a GE, it may use a clutch to come
up to the proper spin speed. As the clutch wears out, it may prevent the unit
from spinning well or at all. If the clutch is worn, you need to replace it. For
this job, you probably want to hire a qualified appliance repair
      technician.

    • The drive motor may be defective. Many washer brands use a reversing motor.
For agitation the motor runs in one direction, for spinning and draining, the
other. It's possible for a motor to burn out in one direction and continue to
operate in the other. If this happens, you need to replace the entire motor.

    • The transmission may not be shifting properly. Older washers produced by
Whirlpool® have a transmission with an electro-mechanical shifter. If the
shifter becomes even partially defective, the unit may drain the water but not
spin. This is a complex system, if your washer has a shifter problem, you may
want to hire a qualified appliance repair technician to repair it.

    • The spin bearing or basket drive may be worn or seized. These components
allow the inner tub to spin freely inside the outer tub. When this is the
problem, you usually hear a loud sound during the spin cycle. Call a qualified
      appliance repair technician.

It spins only with the lid
    closed

    For safety, washing machines
are made so that they spin only with the lid closed. The lid switch prevents the
spinning action when the lid is up.

I have a nec nw-691, when you put it on spin cycle it brings error message --lid open??? plz help

Yuo might try making sure it is still level but I'd just try using a lower spin speed. How have to use "gentle spin" when I wash towels or my washing machine has errors and stops. If still too damp just use a gentle spin only cycle once more to finish the job.

H6 error code on a NEC NFL-1065 washing machine

see this causes, and fix it. God bless you
If the washer stops mid cycle the timer might be defective. This part is often misdiagnosed, check other components before replacing this timer.
f the washer stops mid-cycle the main control board might be defective. This is not common. Check other causes first such as the lid or door switch and other components
f the washer stops mid cycle the water inlet valve cold water side may have failed. Most washers have a cold water rinse and so if they can't fill with cold water they just sit indefinitely waiting for the cold water to enter. If there is cold water to the water inlet valve and the cold water works in other parts of the cycle - or to make warm water - the valve is not the problem.
If the washer stops mid cycle the door lock assembly should be checked. The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any switches on the door lock with an Ohm meter. The switches should have continuity according to their design
If the washer stops mid cycle the lid switch assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

My NEC NFL855 E3 error

E3 error is discharging water problem. ie 1.the pump not working (under bra wire will stop it spinning) or 2. the discharge hose blocked or most likely 3. the pump inlet hose from the drum is blocked (with small article of cloth or coins or similar).
To Fix:
1. Open the pump filter and check if spinning during empty/spin cycle, make sure nothing jamming or twisted around impellor.
2. Check discharge hose is not crushed or kinked.
3. Lay machine on its side, access pump and remove inlet hose assembly and remove any blockage.

NEC NW452 4.5kg washing machine - spin cycle not working

theres 2 things to look for , 1 the LID SWITCH that tells the main module that is OK to SPIN, it could be loose or defective (need a multimeter to check the voltage on switch) 2 the DRAIN PUMP MOTOR , usually it gets stuck with lint and debris, need to open washer ,locate at the bottom on one side where the DRAIN hose is connected, is a small motor , take it out and check inside for clogged stuff , also check drain hose , hope this helps , AJ

Sears 90 Series Washing Machined throws ground fault during spin.

pvatki, I am a licensed electrician and the NEC (national electrical code) does not require a clothes washer to be on a ground fault circuit interrupter. Replacing your gfci with a standard duplex receptacle will fix the problem you are having.

Lg washing machine wft855a top loader

Following up my comment from yesterday, I took the machine apart and discovered that the black rubber cover on the valve that releases the cold water had perished and cracked, and wasn't opening properly.
I tested the hot and cold solenoids and everything checked out ok. Was just the cold valve sticking.
The wash cycle was working because I was using hot/warm water. As the rinse cycle needs cold water to get started, it was not working and the rinse and spin cycles wouldn't complete.
I have swapped the valves over for now (put the working hot one on the cold side and am using cold water only). It's working while I order a replacement...
