Question about Encore ENLTV-FM-HA (CTETVC)
Hi, I followed the steps and I may have lost my hardware. I uninstalled my hardware and Windows had located a hardware which "might not work". The hardware didn't work. Now the computer isnt even asking me for a new hardware device and I have uninstalled my hardware and I believe it may have been deleted. (For some ENLTV Program- The problem has now escalated) What do I do now. I am totally lost and in NEED OF HELP. Please see what you can do. I hardly know anything about computers, try and see what you can do. Thanks,
Look at the FAQ in www.encore-usa.com: "When you see "Failed to Initialize Hardware" message, please be sure Video Card driver and Sound Card driver are properly installed by checking Device Manager under Computer Management. If the above conditions are met and you are still experiencing problem, it is necessary to perform a hardware reset procedure on the card. Here's how: power down the computer, unplug the TV Tuner Card from the motherboard, remove the jumper on the card (pin 2 and 3) and then put it back. Power back up the computer and then try to run the software again." It seems that the card have some kind of issue that "hangs" its hardware, you should try also another TV Program like K-TV. Mine did exactly that "Failed to initalize Hardware" but the free K-TV program worked! :)

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Your hardware technically hasn't gone anywhere, it is still inside your computer. However, the drives for said hardware may have dissapeard. Try installing the drivers from the CD, and see if Windows recognizes the hardware then. If it does, follow the steps in the previous solution to reinstall generic drivers. ***DO NOT REMOVE OLD DRIVERS FIRST*** Just select "update drivers" instead. See if that helps. In the meantime, I am going to see if I can replicate your problem, or see if someone else can help.
