I recently purchased a Husqvarna Viking Designer SE online and just unpacked it obvously from the original factory packing. The machine turns on, lights come on, motor runs and the machine even sews...but, the LCD screen is dead. I have tried resetting the machine by turning it on and off, touching the screen with my finger and stylus to wake it up. Still dead. I am hours from a real dealer. Any suggestions?

My viking did that and the motor was dead. The lighting worked, but nothing past that. It sounds like you have to have it replaced. If it's under the 5 year warranty, it's free. If not, it's around $2-300.

I believe you are going to have to go through a Viking dealer to get the manual.

some authorized husqvarna viking dealers have websites where you can order the spool holder. Might just call an authorized dealer and purchase over the phone. Other 3rd party vendors are http://www.pd60.net and http://www.sewingpartsonline.com may have these. Hope this helps.

You can find this information by touching the configuration icon (this looks like pliers). The item that shows you how many sewing hours is called Timer. You should know that this can be reset to 0 by anyone.
