I also had this problem on the same song (Justin Timberlake - Lovestoned) which would freeze the player, lock up the screen, or cease playing out of the left headphone piece.

The posted solution of holding the power button worked to unfreeze the player. Thanks.

    Hello Sansa Users

    Problem Description:

I tried turning on my sansa e250 after adding some new music and it went into a long "refreshing database" phase until at about a minute and about 80% refreshed, the screen went blank, though it was still on. I held the power button and turned it off...
The second time, the same thing happened, just that the screen now had multiple bright green vertical lines along the screen and the blank black background after waiting a second minute.
After multiple attempts and the same results (blank screen or unhelpful bright green lines), I do think I need your guys' help.

What I have tried and did NOT work:

    • Connecting it to the PC again

    • Powering it on multiple times

    • After going blank, leaving it on for a half hour

That happened to me. Take the battery out and then put it back in. Mine worked fine after that.

Holding the menu button for 20 seconds worked for me thanks ya!

Posted on Dec 05, 2007

Ok the only thing you have to do is to press the power/menu button for 20 seconds and after that your sansa will turn off, then turn it on and enjoy!

Go to my computer scroll to sansa or your MP3 player and open the music folder and open each sub folder and delete Songs manually then delete the folders them selfs then format

Try and drag and drop from your music folder to the media folder on the player make sure usb mode is msc this will show you all the folders Use your windows explorer for the transfer... much easier...If you don't have copies of your music copy to a folder on the computer first
Make sure you have it in MSC usb mode
Download and install run connect sansa when asked. Link

How do i get ride of my music already downloaded from rashpody?

Use Windows Media Player 11 to delete those songs off of there - the Rhapsody downloads won't work after the 30-day trial has expired anyways:

"No Music"

1)The licenses on the songs expired, which means you will have to update them through the music service that you acquired them from. (Not likely since the ripped songs are doing the same thing - although you could have inadvertently checked the option in Windows Media Player to add a DRM license to them).
2) Switch the USB Mode in the Settings menu of your Sansa clip to Auto-Detect or MTP.

Good luck!

Try to listen to songs on my Mp3 player (sansa c240) it no wrk

You have to connect the mp3 player to the computer and refresh your device through Bearshare - their songs have fixed licenses, which require you to refresh every 30 days or less.

When browsing on J: drive i can see my songs that i add to it but

Not 100% sure but you probably need to rip your music to an MP3 format before you sync it to your Sansa. If you loaded it as a .wma format this would appear as you are seeing it. WinXP Media Player 11 is a simple way of doing this. Some MP3 players don't support all the formats but will llet you load them

Sync music to continue listening...

first you must format the player using msc mode then after that retransfer the songs to the player. If you are receiving this message it means that the songs on the player have expired. This is normal if you download the songs off rhapsody, napster or any online music stores and if you have ripped songs iwht copy protect music on it if you ripped them using windows media player 10.

Duplicating songs

Does this happen every time you plug it into the computer? If so you might have your player set to automaticly sinc. this meens that every time you plug it in all the music on your computer will go automaticly on your player. In the settings you can turn it off. Hope this helps!
