SOURCE: what errore code f61 means

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it '*****'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Is not work it is show f61 what dos this mine and how to fix it

The F61 error on Technics audio equipment will depend on the type of unit. However, it could be a problem with the power amplifier IC or with the cooling fan. (If it's the fan, you might be able to clear the error by pressing and holding the power button until the fan starts to spin.)

Please add a comment with the model number of your audio equipment for more information.

I hope this helps.

My technics hi-fi separates sL-EH790 is not coming on just saying f61 then going off

Hi Shelly,

"F61" is an error code for short and/or overload detected by the processor upon self check.
First thing you have to try to eliminate this kind of symptoms is by disconnecting all of the inputs and speakers connected from the unit then turn it on without them. Let me know if the symptoms still persist...

Technics su-Z750 Intergrated Amplifier stays in Standby

HI...
This happens when one or more components in the power amplifier section has failed.

The protect circuit keeps large DC voltages off the speakers.

The only thing you can check for before finding a tech is that the speakers are firmly connected at both ends. If they are ok, you need a tech

PLease rate my help if this helps

Technics dvd stereo sound processor sh-dv290

The F61 is essentially a "protect mode" mesage. A problem was detected and the unit shuts down. This translates into either the amp pac being defective ($approx $95 for part) or a defective regulator circuit (less $$). In either case, the repair is not the simplest to do. Check around for a Panasonic authorized service center and call to get an estimate. This is a relatively common fault, so you should be able to get a ballpark repair cost.

These systems use a large Ic for the output amplifier section. There are 2 of them inside. These amp packs fail and are not cheap to replace. Figure about $65-$75 for the replacement pac plus a labor charge. I have repaired a number of these in the past. These sets sound good but are expensive to repair.
