You need to get the exact ICS that came out of the tv. you do need a qualified tv technician to solve these problems

the ics are mounted on heat sinks on the circuit board they could be stk392-110 for example.

    cathray has good parts 416-241-1106

check also small ohms resistors in front of ics .they normally go bad

JVC AV48WP30 convergence ic

I'm in the process of trying to replace both convergence IC's in my JVC also. I was able to buy both IC's (they look like black semi-rectangular components with 20 pins sticking out...like a computer chip only much bigger) at a TV repair shop for about $15 each. They were clearly labed STK392-110 (but could be 150 or 180 if you wanted to upgrade).

you need two STK392-110 convergence ICs. You can get them at the following link with free instructions on how to replace them. They actually have the repair kit for your model which contains both convergence ICs and the convergence resistors.
Heres the link.

If the convergence Ics and resistors are good its most likely related to the velocity boards that are attached to the Red CRT convergence yoke. Its the small board about half way up the neck of the CRT. If you need one let me know as I have a source for JVC boards for that model.

JVC AV-48WP30 48 in. Rear... Problem

Your convergence I.C's ( integrated circuits ) Have failed. Replace Both I.C's with Stk392-150's. The unit is equipped with 110's. These are large IC's pn the convergence board located near the front of the unit. You need soldering/desoldering experience to do this job. I would recommend seeking professional assistance.

Remote LOST - need info on what button to press...JVC AV-48WP30

There might be some features that the universal remotes aren't able to do. To perform the convergence alignment you should have the original remote.
Do you have the user manual or service manual?
The service manual will explain this process better.

Jvc av-48wp30 convergence problem

1. if the 1.5 ohm resistor was open, then you may have fried your new convergence ic's. Sorry
2. bettween a 1.5 - 1.9 ohm resistor will work
3. press sleep button, set to 30
hold down video status button and press display on remote
select convergence from the new menu and hit OK.
Do fix the convergence before you try to align the convergence or it will look horrible after you get the circuit fixed and will be harder to align.

The white button is there because the DCU (digital convergence unit) can be erased by holding that button and turning the set on.
I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THAT AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope this Helps.
