Question about Gateway MX6920 Notebook
I have already replaced one power cord and that solved the problem for 6 months. It now will not turn on with the battery in place or removed with another new power cord plugged into a working outlet. I thought it may be the AC Jack. The local repair shop said I need a new battery. If that was the problem shouldn't it have worked with the battery removed but plugged into a working outlet?
You Need To Replace The DC Jack In The Laptop...
It Is The Jack THat Your AC Adapter Plugs into....
The Jack Needs to Be Unsoldered/Removed/Cleaned And A New Jack Installed..
I Wouldn't Bring It To That Same Repair Shop To Do THe DC Jack Repair FYI...... ouch!!!
