Try to connect it to another computer to rule out other possible problems like the usb lead for example, if you no other pc to connect it to, try another usb lead if you have one, this will maybe help you to get to the bottom of it

On Windows:
Open Device Manager by right-clicking on the My Computer icon then click Properties. Then click the Hardware tab and click the Device Manager button. Locate the camera by expand Imaging Devices and/or USB Controllers section.

On Mac:
Click the Apple icon then About This Mac and click More Info button. Scroll down to the USB section.

Ooops! HP Desktop - I missed that.

If the device shows up, usually the icon will have a Big Red X OR a Yellow Exclamation Point on it, a Device Driver is needed. An installation CD is included when you purchased the camera .

If it doesn't, change the USB cable and try other USB ports.

Camcorder should have a usb connection on it someplace, This will be a mini usb port which will connect to your computers usb port. Cable will have one standard usb connection, other end of the cable will have mini usb end. VCR video will connect to a yellow connector if there is one on your computer otherwise you will have to check out the computer store for a video capture card and put it into your computer or have them do it. Hope this helps.

After rebooting my cpu my mouse stopped working. My cpu does not recognize my mouse? The mouse works because i tried it on a different cpu. what can be causing this?

Did you try to reboot?
Do you have an optical mouse? (if yes: is the red light on?
(Then the mouse is recognized and you must configure your mouse options)
Did you try to connect your USB mouse to another connector?
Or if PS2 connector: Turn of the pc and connect the mouse and power on.
Did you install a new driver? (then uninstall this driver)
Try looking for the most recent mouse driver on the manufacturer site.

Can't record audio

I have converted home videos on my PC this way. I have a Sony camcorder whose output connects
to my firewire card in the PC. I also use windows Movie maker. While it is recording, I don't hear the audio. After saving the file and playing it back, I hear the audio, along with seeing the movie. Windows movie maker allows me to stop, start, and record the movie. It has complete control over the
Sony camcorder by using the firewire port on the PC.
