Question about Pioneer AirWave XM2Go Satellite Radio Receiver with Home and Car Kit

Open Question

Low Volume on Aux output

My Airwave XM radio has been working fine, hooked up to my portable FM radio until yesterday... now the volume is so low it's inaudible and impossible to increase. I have checked all the connections but nothing seems to correct it. What could this be? (both devices are plugged into wall outlets so it's not batteries.)

SOURCE: Airwave won't power up!

Remove back cover. Plug DC adapter into the bottom of the radio. Use an extra small paperclip or pin to push the 'reset' button just to the left of the white battery. Report back on progress.

My old unit stopped working;(worked perfect for many years) so I replaced with a new same model and I have bad interference and FM static. Sometimes the FM station overrides the express radio and all you...

The very first XM radios, (SkyFi2, MyFi, Roady2) up until they were put in red boxes, had a VERY strong FM transmitter, so strong, that when Sirius was their enemy, they complained to the FCC and they made the FM transmitters real weaklings. So unless you have one of the first two batches of XM radios, the FM transmitters now are real junk and you're better off using an AUX input on the radio or a cassette tape adapter. Okay? Thanks.

Can I add FM frequencies to my receiver?

Unfortunately no. Use an AUX input or a 'stand-alone' FM transmitter.

Are you playing it directly thru your FM antenna connection, or using the RCA jacks? You have to set the FM modulator level. It is also possible that you have a new FM radio with a type of ALC that will raise the lever regardless, but your regular car radio volume control should work. do not wire this directly to a power amp, as you won't have the control that you need. Good luck, let me know more.

I have a portable XM and want to run the antenna through my FM radio and my zip is 50595. I can not find the webiste link that lists available FM Frequencies by zip, any ideas on that?

Yes, go to "" - they have a selection for finding unused FM frequencies in your area. Actually, your radio will sound better using an "AUX" input or a cassette tape adapter.

The factory xm volume to low in 2006 corvette

Separate 'plug and play' XM radios, like the one pictured above, have a "MENU" setup, and you can adjust the "Audio Level" in that menu setting. See if you can access an XM menu. You can also ask your question over at or; both are 'fan' websites.
Good luck - nice car too!

My pioneer inno2 don't sent any fm signal to the car stereo

I had to add the sure connect antenna on one vehicle and it solved it. Doesn't make sense since one car would run one receiver and had no sure connect but the one receiver needed it. Anyway-works for me fine now!

High pitch sound in background

A high pitch sound while connected in the house is either a problem with the reciever or you are picking up interference from somewhere. However, the high pitched noise when using the unit in a car (especially through an aux. connection), is caused by the alternator of the car. This can be eliminated by connecting a filter in-line with the aux wire (much like filters are installed on the radio power line). The filter is essentially a low pass filter that filters out noise above a certain frequency. You may have to get creative and modify your aux. input cable (i.e. - splice it into the aux cable) in order for this to work, or you can just turn the volume down a bit - it should be less noticeable at lower volumes.

XM 2 GO Not Playing

I had the same problem. I had to reset (use a paper clip into the RESET hole under the battery cover ( or pull out the battery for a a couple of minutes). Then, after recording some songs, I switched over MYXM and then began rotating the channel selector dial. The volume indicator arrow moved off zero and began advancing up the volume scale. I kept doing it until it about half way and my sound was back.
